Pedestrian bridge in bothell landing park, with an arched wood frame, black metal fencing, and a light colored bridge deck that is maybe thin concrete? Idk I’m not an engineer. The water in the slough is dark and high because it’s springtime, and the trees and bushes on either side are lush. New this year is a cute bronze statue of a frog fishing from a hammock suspended between two trusses on the bear side is the bridge. The frog is wearing a hat textured like straw and one of its legs dangles off the side of the hammock.

Edmonds Marina with the ferry departing and islands in the background. In front of the breakwater, There are tons of seals on one of the docks between two sailboats. The seals are all in a row, jammed together but also trying to sun themselves as much as possible. Sometimes a fight breaks out and they bark and one or two end up in the water. They’re fun to watch.

My kid on the beach looking at a seal in the water. My kid is in a bright red tee shirt and regretting that he wore pants (it’s upper 60s F, that’s hot around here). The beach here is mostly sandy with some agates that sound really nice when the tide comes in and the waves push them around, sort of like those rain sticks you can find at one of those novelty high end gift stores that used to be in malls. As for the seal, only its head is above the water; the photo is centered so the seal is just above my kid’s head.

The tables have turned! The seal has come right up to the shore and is looking at all the silly humans on the beach. It’s got its head tilted back and its flippers are still under the surf. We were pretty far back from the shore when it decided to do this so there are a bunch of people between us and it; it looks like it’s only a couple yards from some of the people but it was more like 4-5 yards away. There are lots of signs at the beach (not pictured) warning of the dangers of getting too close and people respected that. There is grayed drift wood in foreground and Whidbey island is in the background across the wine-dark Puget Sound.

Hoo boy the world would’ve been different if tucker Carlson’s parents believed in family planning. You know they didn’t want those kids if they’re naming them “tucker” and “buckley”

Screenshot of bluesky error on mobile app. Just below the headers for the different feeds is a red bar with an exclamation point and the word “forbidden”.

And yes, it’s on daylight mode. I set up my phone to only do nighttime mode at night, like a real sicko

Op-Ed: Reconnect and Automate Ballard to West Seattle Rail to Save ST3 Sound Transit can halve the cost of light rail to Ballard and West Seattle by building them as a connected automated light rail line with slimmer stations, according to two transit experts who have la...

This is a roadmap to delivering all of ST3 without decades of delay. If not this, then Sound Transit and the board must come up with another approach that delivers the full system with out scope cuts or decade long deferrals.

<rant about work>
I made and packed a specific number of 4 preparations for 4 locations and had them all bundled up to go w/ the other items going to each location. Boss didn’t bother reading my email and did all sorts of weird things w/ them and now I can’t figure out who has what. Ugh.
<end rant>

ours was multiple days on the road to central KS, where us kids would swim in an old rock quarry or read my grandpa’s Tom Clancy books. Usually got to stop at a natl park or something a little more touristy on the way, which was nice
