Looks lovely, well done ๐
While a spend a day of my weekend to write about Phare's billing system implementation, a competitor pushed 12k articles using AI news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4764... ๐คทโโ๏ธ
It was all doable, but exposed some interesting gaps in Paddle's API along the way. The implementation has been running in production for 3 months now without issues. If you're building metered billing on Paddle, I wrote up my findings and the workarounds I landed on for a clean implementation.
While I was at it, I wanted to improve the billing experience for my customers with calendar-month billing cycles, on top of the existing flat subscription + metered billing that define Phare's pricing.
Back in December I migrated @phare.io's billing backend to Paddle to let them handle VAT compliance for me.
Hey, I actually answered before seeing there was something to win and already got a Bunny plushy, please give it to another participant ๐ฐ๐
Thank you, and btw your DM are not open so I couldn't message you

Record growth last month when I did not even touch anything for two weeks is kind of crazy to see

Interesting, I was about to make the reverse move and add French / German as it's most of my traffic.
Is there a reason why you went all in / all out and not keep translations on a few landing pages ?
Took the opportunity to give the official Phare status page a facelift during the weekend.

Passed 100k lines of codes on @phare.io main repository ๐
They always choose the most time-consuming feature to make ๐ซ
This Terraform thing required a fair bit of work ๐
I thought making a Terraform provider would be fast with an existing Open API spec, oh boy was I wrong.
Today @phare.io just passed 800 users, which means I now have more users than tests running in CI ๐ฑ
Just a @clickhouse.com appreciation meme :)
It also starts to lag badly when approaching the context limit. Not all bad, hopefully they manage to catch up to Anthropic.
For coding Mistral Vibe isn't great, permissions are basically "can I use bash" which is way too broad. Some weird copy / paste / scrolls behaviours and the written code is much more opinionated, while Claude manage to copy your style a bit better.
The chat is quite nice, really fast and configuring agent / memory is straightforward, but it seems to hallucinate a lot more than GPT / Claude.
You know you can just lie to the bots ๐
