Hot take but the Bracket system isn't currently solving for velocity differences in B2 & B3 satisfactorily, IMO.

I feel like if your Commander is a mana/card engine while ALSO contributing to your gameplan/wincon?

The card is Necrologia - an instant spell that lets you draw as many cards as you paid in life while casting. Go big, very big, you only live once, and you can't reanimate yourself.

Necrologia is my favorite card, it's made for reanimator and can pay off in a BIG way, or blow up in your face since the life payment is part of casting the dang spell. Gotta cast it in your end step, so you'd better believe we don't run Reliquary Tower - fill that graveyard up with heat!

Feel this in my bones.

They print 4000+ commanders but want people to only play 250 of them.

I've come to the conclusion that WotC design just wants everyone playing Ashling/Y'shtola/Teval/Fire Lord Azula pods. If every commander is a must-remove threat, than none are, and that fixes the issue. Frankly, people like myself who try to build decks are the real problem at this point.

Paperclip Commander.

You don't always need staples to get the job done.

Slotting all precons into Bracket 2 was a pretty bad move at the start of Brackets too. People still use it as a benchmark. Especially with all the "do your deck and draw a card" commanders printed, the distinction between 2/3 for a lot of people is just game changers 😩

oof... those kind of decisions is why I'm so glad Farewell is a GC. I'd rather shuffle up for a new game any time.
