RFK Jr. wants tens or maybe even hundreds of millions of Americans to die because he considers them genetically inferior, and I just want to be clear that's not a good plan. For, you know, a number of reasons.

It’s critical to note that this clip should be taken as evidence that Trump is (obviously) taking cuts of the funds being used to build his new white house ballroom, the arc, etc
I asked my Law & Religion students to reflect on two questions. First, what was the worst court decision you read for the class? Second, what have you changed your mind about (if anything) over the course of the semester?
surely no army in military history has ever been laid low by disease, a famously uncommon problem among people living in enforced close quarters
I am losing my mind
Two months before the first GOP primary in 2016, Donald Trump granted a long, friendly interview to Alex Jones. Any semblance of a reality-based GOP died that day. youtu.be/upo2zsqpEM4?...
Germany’s global position in academia didn’t really get fully restored to pre-1933 until after reunification. West Germany had fabulous universities but they weren’t able to compete equally until the fall of East Germany
This is gonna be like how Germany immediately lost Albert Einstein, and famous academics…it took till 2000s when you can say Germany was in the same academic place as 1932.
Did Cook step down because Trump had him over a barrel?
This is mob boss rambling
"Despite our rhetorical commitment to 'critical thinking,' we typically present one side of an issue — the left-wing side, almost always — and call it a day."
let me stop you right there; who's "we"
They are the children of Fox News watchers who don’t know what the BBC standard of reporting is. They could not comprehend how the BBC works without bias accusations
I had students read and brief NYT v. Sullivan for bonus points. 14 turned in assignments. A few were clearly ChatGPT written. Three others wanted to overturn Sullivan because of "fake news."
They pay 75,000 a MONTH for that studio.
They not only won’t cancel; they’ve handed the entire event over to the fascists.
Stephen Miller and Pete Hegseth are sitting at CBS’ table.
FCC’s Brendan Carr has actually been invited, while he’s trying to take away press freedoms.
Google and Apple do as well iirc? Through sponsorship of tables
I meant “distance from his sources POV.” These events are where you see who wants to drink the quality Scotch AND be a famous reporter. Unfortunately those qualities ruin your credibility for your audience over years. No one dinner doesn’t corrupt, the anticipation of future Tony dinners will
Of course he doesn’t have to hate it. The audience of his does because it shows his lack of distain from the sources.
It is however, Jared, where I learned to drink quality Scotch when I snuck into the hotel for the event in 2014. So it’s not a total loss
Journalists planning to honor Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner have a choice:
A. Party with the dictator, wear fancy clothes and network to boost their careers.
B. Stand up for democracy by staying home.
They’re going to choose A. It looks terrible now. It will look worse to history.
"I'm doing a ballroom now" -- Trump is now ranting about his ballroom on CNBC
The WHCD has been morally dead since the Bush administration and Stephen Colbert calling them out to their face. 23 years ago
Money and access are corrupting influences on reporting. The way to deal with these common human weaknesses is having a lot of people who don’t have money and access cover the same topics.
I really used to respect his coverage of race in television but he might not have the perspective beyond that narrow field of expertise
I followed Eric for a long time in his career. Reporters need to be reminded they aren’t doing journalism for anyone but themselves if they want to be one of those they cover
Eric Deggans is saying the obvious: I enjoy these fancy meals because they personally helped my career (not my audience who gains nothing from my experience because I won’t expose anything that makes the dinner uncomfortable for a future appearance). That’s not noble careerism at work.
“From my perspective, the problem isn’t a tony dinner bringing together journalists and politicians, including a President who has often attacked the press.”
His POV misses the flaws in his role as a reporter. His audience. If his audience is “Tony” I guess they don’t mind him being a “Tony”
This isn’t a defense of his job in journalism that Eric Deggans thinks it is. In fact as a reporter he admits his POV in journalism isn’t about principles but access. ericdeggans.substack.com/p/why-i-dont...
It's peace talks day and the president is watching television.
