In a world wounded by arrogance, people hunger and thirst for justice. We must encourage those who believe in peace and dare to engage in
"countercurrent" politics, which focus on the common good. What is urgently needed is the courage of new visions and an educational pact that gives young people space and trust.

The rapid technological evolution we are witnessing has accelerated speculative behavior in search of raw materials. This shift seems to
overshadow fundamental imperatives such as the safeguarding of creation, the rights of local communities, the dignity of labor, and the protection of public health. I thus renew the appeal of Pope Francis, who passed away exactly one year ago: "Today we also have to say 'thou shalt not' to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills."

Even more than in the past, it is clear today that the proliferation of armed conflicts is often driven by the exploitation of oil and mineral deposits, with no regard for international law or the self-determination of peoples.

Without a change of direction in the assumption of political responsibility, and without respect for institutions and international agreements, humanity's destiny risks being tragically
compromised. God does not want this.
His holy Name must not be profaned by the desire for domination, arrogance, or discrimination. Above all, it must never be invoked to justify death-dealing choices and actions.

US at risk of running out of missiles if another war breaks out after depleting stockpile in Iran operations | CNN Politics The US military has significantly depleted its stockpile of key missiles during the war with Iran and created a “near-term risk” of running out of ammunition in a future conflict should one arise in t...

⚠️ During the Iran War, the US military has used:

• At least 45% of its Precision Strike Missiles
• At least half of its THAAD missiles
• Almost 50% of its Patriot air defense interceptor missiles

This has created “near-term risk” of running out of ammunition in future conflict.

I would say every person living between the Mediterranean and the Jordan has the right to be governed by a sovereign government for which they have the right to vote. I am agnostic on whether that takes the form of one state, two, or a confederation. It is clear who has that right and who does not.

The people asking “Does Israel have a right to exist?” are usually asking, “Does Israel have the right to prioritize maintaining a Jewish voting majority above enfranchising every person living in the territory they are governing?” And I wish they would be honest enough to ask that question.

Possible Iran War futures:

• Trump declares “victory” and withdraws. (This is NOT dependent on rational assessment of US strategic gains.)

or

• Escalation. (This could cost countless Iranian and US lives and end up expanding the war beyond the region.)

Hope for the former.
Bibi wants the latter.

TL;DR:

THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS STILL CLOSED.

Iran maintains the upper hand because time is its weapon.

Iran sees the blockade as an act of war and is unlikely to participate in negotiations as long as it is maintained. 🧵⬇️

STATEMENT OF PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP:
Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal. I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other. President DONALD J. TRUMP

U.S. Considers Financial Support for Oil-Rich U.A.E.

Seems like NYT should have mentioned that UAE's spymaster bought 49% of Trump's World Liberty Financial and used $2B of its USD1 stablecoin, directing hundreds of millions to Trump.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

From Tehran's perspective, entering negotiations under a naval blockade would signal weakness, not strength.
Without credible guarantees that the blockade will be lifted, Iran has little incentive to come to the table.
In fact, refusing talks under pressure may be perceived domestically as a show of resilience. As a result, the likelihood of talks commencing in Pakistan remain low.

The problem is compounded by the fact that additional U.S. pressure on Iran may prove counterproductive. Rather than advancing a diplomatic resolution, it is likely to push it further out of reach by reinforcing hardline positions in Tehran.

Blockading Iranian ports is an act of war and thus a violation of the ceasefire.
Striking a commercial vessel and taking its crew hostage is an even greater violation.
Iran knows how to neutralize restrictions, how to defend its interests, and how to resist bullying.

I heard some interesting tea yesterday that Hegseth asked the guys at RTB if they can just revoke every ranger tab issued since they supposedly lowered standards for women. Apparently he was shocked to learn this would affect thousands of soldiers including 75th boys.
