Take yourself back to your childhood. Visiting the candy store. Selecting that odd block of chocolate called seafoam. Hard on the first bite but softer after breaking its surface, brittle, crunchy foam like packaging material, sweet, with the chocolate coating. How is like seafoam?

Ever feel left out of the loop? The loop, the word around town. What's up. Wuz happ'nin'. Fred felt that way when he showed up at the designated spot and the others weren't there. Fred with a knitted face mask, gloves, and a gun--in a bank. "Uh, wrong address..." He slithered out.

Michigan is setting up for another evening of severe storms. Perhaps not as wild as last night. Looking out my window while the tornado sirens whined, I watched what looked more like a hurricane with horizontal rains wash across our parking lot. May have been straight line winds, not a tornado.

Give stress the heave ho. Deep breaths, heave ho! Deep breaths, heave ho! Now leave it behind, stunned. ;-)

Eyes shut tight, I stared into a shallow brook. There appeared a gentle-rain-dappled brook passing over stones and pebbles as sun reflected from its floor and raindrops bubbled grains of sand to its surface. I could almost smell the petrichor of fresh rainfall, hear thunder call.

There is no such thing as perfection in art. That is in the eye of he beholder, and no two beholders will behold it the same. So give yourself a break. Keep the perfectionist in your eyes at bay and leave it for someone else to fixate over. Your work is always exceptional.

He was a slinky, slithering snaky son of a bitch. A sinking, stinking, smelly son of all stench. And what's worse, he knew it and relished it, embellished and even celebrated it. His armpits stank, his feet ranked, and his teeth reeked. And he always sat upwind. Meet Dewy Funkmore.

Careful, listen! A gold finch sings out in song. But it's not a choir part. No, its whistles and trills sound more like speech, words sung in conversation. One sends out a string of notes, then far off its mate responds alike. "What would you like to eat?" "Bring *fresh* seed!"

But will the evangelical wing of the GOP let them, with Armageddon on the line? Mad men (and women) want their End Times.

What about a tree stump (roots as legs) as a character, too? A sibling or just another forestling?

I’m waiting for the cottonwood in our area to “snow”, anytime now. Makes me horribly ill. Usually starts by now here in Michigan, but certainly by mid-June. Curiously, I saw squirrels eating the seeds earlier this spring. Maybe I’m saved this year!

seems kinda bad that the House GOP is ordering half a trillion in cuts to Medicare now? Not Medicaid but Medicare. Is that bad?

@peters.senate.gov Please vote no on this atrocious bill that puts the burden on the lower and middle classes once again. Support the people who voted you into office!

Seems like I remember Booker being hailed as a hero for an historic filibuster on the Senate floor, with multiple Senate Dem colleagues filling in for relief when needed, and suddenly he’s enemy number 1 for voting for a past supporter as AMBASSADOR. WTF are you thinking (or NOT thinking)?

Also, the Statue of Liberty didn’t turn into a president’s personal property through his presidential library at the end of his presidency, either.

A fine effort on your side. Thanks for all your good works. Really enjoyed writing to them. Proves the show need not go on. Have a good rest while you pursue other worthy efforts.

Maps are becoming so articulate. Brings added realism and clarity and a touch of fun. This is great.
