A poster with a colorful stack of books on the left and this text on the right: “Hey, Teenagers: Pay close attention to the books people try to ban. Then, make a beeline to read those books, if you can. Find out for yourself why those people want that book banned. Find out for yourself if they can be trusted to know what’s best for you.” ~ Jeff Zentner

Today's winner of the Internet. Congratulations!
How interesting that 'the pope' of American apocalyptic white Christian nationalism never goes to church on Sunday morning but instead picks that time to tweet out genocidal threats to kill millions of people
A march took place in Seoul today to show solidarity with Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran against the US-Israeli attacks.

None of my cats have ever liked a full on bath or being sprayed with a shampoo bottle, but soaking a cloth or paper towel in waterless cat shampoo, then gently petting them does the trick. Sometimes, I’ll spray down the brush before grooming too. Then a quick rub down with coconut oil. 💖🐈⬛
When I find myself criticizing my #cats smells, I put myself in her paws. I must smell funky sometimes because Bitty looks at me all offended after I touch her with greasy mitts and immediately starts grooming herself. She does not like a dirty litter box and she has me scooping every other day.
The food selection for cats these days is amazing. Bitty tried mousse for the first time this morning and she loves it. She gives hugs in appreciation and darted around the house playing with excitement afterward. Either that or she pooped and she was running away from it. #cats 😹

Barack Obama dances with several Alaska indigenous girls that are wearing colorful hooded tunics with a large front pocket called a qaspeq (or kuspuk). Some of the older girls wear beaded headdresses with fur.
The video of Obama & Mamdani reading to children reminded me of the time President Obama danced with Yupik children in Alaska. Worth the watch. Something Biff would never do, unless it was to "YMCA." youtu.be/90YZc3k7rdI?...
Wooo, I better get on it! I finally watched the El Camino movie recently and have the Saul series on my watch list.
I’m so sorry. Be extra kind to yourself and remember to breathe. Love and bear hugs from Alaska 💨🐻❄️❤️🩹
“Human relationships are complex, and not every disappointment or disagreement qualifies as psychological harm. By flattening every unpleasant experience into “toxicity,” we dilute the power of the term.”
Same with the word “acidic”.
“The overuse of ‘toxic’ dilutes its meaning, trivializing real harm and preventing personal growth by oversimplifying complex situations.”
I think I’m being really clear and concise. I think you’re an emotionally immature person for not being willing to engage in conversation about the real world impacts of labeling people as “toxic” and “negative”. It’s narcissistic to attempt to define already established human behaviors.
That’s a bit judgmental. People are free to do whatever hobbies they want even if it can be frustrating at times. They are likely “expressing grievances” because they want to get support from other people who share the same hobby.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by this statement. It does not make any sense to me. Do you share the same hobby with this person you are referring to?
“I.E. They complain about a hobby, & what they express as being bad is something they intentionally seek out in it.”
Not all expressed grievances are hypocritical or purely bullshit.
Not all people who “express grievances” are hypocrites or liars.
This statement makes more sense to me. “A hypocrite or liar who complains often creates cognitive dissonance, leading to guilt and anxiety, while also damaging trust and credibility in relationships.”
You used the words “expressing grievances” to describe what you perceive as toxic or negative.
Expressing grievances is not toxicity, negativity, nor does it imply hate.
I’m glad someone likes them. I’ll eat them if they are the only cookies available.

Here’s some Bitty toe beans for your #caturday viewing pleasure. The natural light in this photo is bringing out the brown in her fur. 🐾🐈⬛🤎
“Expressing grievances helps individuals identify problems, seek solutions, and find emotional release, fostering a sense of belonging and support.”
People don’t complain to be perceived as talking negative or to spread hate.

Golden wonder killifish got a girlfriend today. The male survived a bout of the ich and I was waiting to make sure the tank stayed healthy before introducing a companion. So far all is good and everyone is adjusting well.
I hate that they are treating me this way now because of circumstances completely outside of my control.
Try living with no money, transportation, food; in a highly dysfunctional home with 2 raging MAGA narcissists and orphaned children.
Now medications that I do need, don’t have refills available and I have to ask a primary care provider. I don’t have a primary care provider assigned to me anymore after the med incident.
Now the hospital sends me refills I didn’t ask for because I had a reaction to being without my medication for 2 weeks.
You wanna know what I didn’t do during a snow dump when the city didn’t clear the neighborhood for a few weeks, was wait until the last minute to refill prescriptions. I called a week before I ran out and post office wouldn’t deliver then hospital wouldn’t refill.
