“A Pharisee” and “the Pharisees” are two different things. Jesus says *a* Pharisee.

The Pharisees were a Jewish sect that believed in the Oral Torah, as opposed to the Sadducees which did not. Jews today also believe in the Oral Torah – as did Jesus.
