I finally broke down and started watching Stranger Things. A number of my teens (I do guardian ad litem work) told me how good it is. So, I started at the beginning.
I will say that it does get started very slowly. It took me a bit to engage. Their good reviews are why I kept watching. Glad I did.
They’re all between 18-26, and that way they each have their own holiday snacks that none of them have to share.
We have a recipe for a soft, slightly iced cookie that we’ve always called Nottie’s cookies. That might end up being our fifth. It’s a family hand me down recipe. But haven’t decided yet.
We give out bags of cookies and Chex mix with a gift card for each of my nieces and nephews on Hubby’s side

My novel DEMON DEADLY SINS is a horror comedy novel. Best described as DOGMA meets SUPERNATURAL meets GHOSTBUSTERS meets HOT FUZZ, with demon exterminators fighting the Seven Deadly Sins in the small town where Beth Macy's PAPER GIRL is set (and where I live), it is complete at just over 85K words.
Have worked on it ever since. It's been eating my head. Have now published 7 short stories in that world. But the novel? I literally just finished it.
IT'S DONE.
I won an Honorable Mention at Writers of the Future in 2011? for a short story I'd written. Sent the story everywhere. Folks loved it, but didn't buy it. Had it workshopped. Why couldn't I sell it? Finally a writer friend said...it should be a novel, not a short story.
