I implemented some dynamic behaviour to stabilize performance. The game checks for the real_fps and reduces some effects to try and increase the framerate (pics just for eyecandy hehe)

The events of the world have been really weighing on me recently.

But, today, my friend shared his daughter's game project and the main character has a Luna-like hat as a nod to Potions.

My heart is warm and my eyes are teary. This is why I do what I do.

My name and profile icon are from a enemy/multiplayer character from Timesplitters. Decided to try remaking the modeling using the #Prodeus editor. Head progress:

I love these early screenshots of Prodeus, where I was still figuring things out.

When you're starting out at anything, the single most important thing about your tools is that you keep using them. Is this one good, is it bad, is it pro, is it amateur? Doesn't matter. What matters is that you stick to it. The core challenge of the beginner is staying on the horse.

My last big project. MP map Seraphim for #prodeus, coming in the DLC The Elder Veil. I made a custom triangular portal which teleports the player from the bottom of the map to the top for a waterfall flow to the level. #levelart #leveldesign

Random level art doodles. Green is inspired by #subnautica and another is pretty obviously #warhammer40k #prodeusgame #prodeus

ioridyson.bsky.social Makin maps for old games is my jam.

I also had a ton of help and learned a lot from the Prodeus lead level designer Generalvivi, and fellow mapper ioridyson.bsky.social

My first professional map. Official Prodeus multiplayer level Apophix. This was a ton of fun to make. It started as an homage to one of my favorite scifi series Stargate SG-1, but toned the references down to the snake statue and general techno-ancient-egyptian theme.

I don't think my screens are particularly bright, but I was definitely going for a certain mood. The lighting is just bad I think, there's a lot of lighting techniques I've learned since. It's definitely possible to keep that dark atmosphere but make it visually more identifiable.

Trying to find motivation to start mapping again. Here's my first original single player level. Blood Feast, for the retro fps Prodeus. #1 feedback: "it's too dark". A few hundred hours of mapping later and I understand that now. 🙃
