A modernist petrol station in Madrid, seen from above. Built with bricks and concrete, it almost looks angel-like, thanks to a rounded tower and the curved hall and forecourt roof that are a bit similar to wings.
The environment of Madrid's periodicals archive also holds this beautiful modernist petrol station, huddling against the facade of the hotel where I am staying.
Trees with fresh, little green leaves seen from above against a blue sky, with the iron railings of an enclosed urban park in Madrid, close to the cultural centre Conde-Duque de Olivares.
Also, Madrid is quite a change from our Scottish spring.
The screen of a microfilm visualiser, showing a page of the nineteenth-century Spanish fashion magazine El Ángel del hogar. In the background, a bit of the light-filled, high-ceilinged reading room in Madrid's fantastic archive of periodicals.
And I have got the one year that I needed to complete my collection of El Ángel del Hogar: 1866! With lots of little gems hidden between the pages, if that's the right word for microfilm scans.
Tomorrow, I will spend the day at the Hemeroteca Municipal de Madrid. I hope there will be some late Easter eggs waiting for me!

The first proofs of _Redrawing Europe's Literary Map_ are now off again to the production team. It was quite fiddly work because of the different languages involved and so many authors mentioned - a big shout out to our very professional indexer, Eline van der Veken!

Something for the colleagues at the Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic at the University of Glasgow @dimitrafimi.bsky.social @edunorte.bsky.social
I am sure Michel de Montaigne would write a lovely essay about this, if he lived today.
I would enjoy the proof reading...
The stage looked very different from the balcony, high up under the rafters.

Sei mal still, ich ruf Dich an!“. Bild 3 zeigt einen großen Schneemann, aus seinem Bauch kommt eine Sprechblase mit Musiknoten. Zwei vorbeigehende Personen sagen: „Vergiss es!“
Guten Morgen!
