✨ Big O ✨

Let me take you on a visual introduction to what big O notation is in my new blog post: samwho.dev/big-o.

With big O notation you can better understand how algorithms will perform in practice, finding orders of magnitude improvements often with very simple changes to your code.

I’ve always found Big O tricky, but these data visualizations made it click much more for me! Wish I’ve read this before grinding theory for Leetcode 😅

How does it compare to other reasoning models? I’ve been using o3-pro for system design/architecture and Claude Code with Sonnet for actual coding, but I’m wondering if it’s worth switching from o3-pro to Deep Think for that use case.

Using Playwright MCP with Claude Code Inspired by Armin , I decided to figure out how to use the official microsoft/playwright-mcp Playwright MCP server with Claude Code.

I figured out how to add the official Playwright browser automation MCP to Claude Code. Run this before you start "claude":

claude mcp add playwright npx '@playwright/mcp@latest'

Now Claude Code can use a Chrome browser directly!

I use Aerospace, essentially it lets me stack my windows like an “accordion” and I can use shortcuts to navigate between them using my keyboard only.
I have been really liking it in my setup!

As of this moment this has become one of my favorite quotes of all time.

Context / Rules for AI – Cursor Built to make you extraordinarily productive, Cursor is the best way to code with AI.

I’ve started to use composer with agent mode as well and it’s great! One good tip I’ve found is to create a .cursorrules file to reference in agent mode. One example is context about your design system in markdown, that way all generated code uses the design system!

Joy of React certification

I am happy to share that I’ve successfully completed The Joy of React course from @joshwcomeau.com

Before I didn’t feel confident of my React skills, despite having years of experience. Josh’s course helped me build a great foundation I will use for the rest of my career!

Looking forward to it! 🚀

Have been using Cursor for a year and the autocomplete is pretty good, worth the price itself. I cannot find a good use case yet for composer. I think that I get better results coding features myself using Cursor Tab rather than using code generation 😅

1) The trackball comes with 2 side buttons, and they can be pretty useful, I set the first to open mission control, and the second to open Raycast!

2) If the trackball gets stiff, you can make it smooth again by rubbing it against your forehead, crazy, but works wonders

Friends! I've decided to go back to FTE and need your help finding good opportunities.

I want to work on web apps again on a great team.

I can do product or platform work, am great at React & TS, but happy to grow outside that bubble for the right thing.

DMs are open!

Yeah it’s a great mouse! I tend to play first person games and didn’t have any issues. Plus no more wrist pain after long work/gaming sessions

I use the Logitech MX Ergo trackball, might take some time getting used to, but I find great for work and gaming!

If you liked Elden Ring but it felt like too much work, you might like Sekiro! It’s got a steep learning curve with the combat, but once you master it, it’s my probably favorite yet.
It’s available for the PS5 as well!

+1 for Returnal! Plus it’s a great demo of the PS5 controller (adaptive triggers, haptic feedback) probably my favorite implementation of these features yet

Got the Joy of React during the sale, and it’s been amazing! Just a few days in, and I already feel more confident in my React skills. The interactive platform and mental models make learning really fun. Glad you’re doing great after leaving Twitter—your courses are great!

Amazing course! I am taking it now, my favorite part is the interactive playgrounds for each module! It’s great to learn and play around with the Motion API 🚀

Just watched your video Pistol Whip turned to 11. That’s some insane gameplay! The most I was able to achieve was Deadeye on Hard difficulty but here you use all the modifiers at once, that must have taken lots of practice!

Great read! Thank you for posting this Kent!
I just moved to the US earlier this year, and I have been procrastinating on making connections here in the web dev space. I think this post finally gave me some good motivation to get started and join some local events 🚀

Great list Marc! This made me want to play Pistol Whip again! It’s my favorite VR game. It’s also a good way to exercise 🤣
