New blog post.
I talk about submitting manga ideas to publishers, guidelines, BL specific industry trends, brainstorming process, etc. breezebl.wordpress.com/2026/04/15/t...
The library cafe in that neighborhood is also almost exactly the same as it used to be. The woody smell of the interior. The seasonal tarts on the menu. The mellow piano background music. Seriously like a time capsule! They did collect more illustration books so that was nice to see.
Visited a neighborhood i used to live in 6 years ago.
The park is slightly more run down than I remembered but it's still very nice.
Saw some duck yuri.
Park's cafe menu hasn't changed.

updated blog page descriptions a bit;
when i started it I just wanted to talk about doujinshi events but then i got really serious about getting into doing commercial BL manga lol.... so my posts started to change direction a little
aw i hope they do it again and print an actual catalog next time T_T
but I do think it's good for people to know about how these go because there is like no information in English about them so if you do want to share it with somebody who is aiming to be a mangaka in Japan please go ahead.
lowkey hope not too many ppl read this because i'm nervous but here's my blog post about what first time manga editor meetings are like: breezebl.wordpress.com/2026/04/06/w...
is it just for show or are they printing a catalog!?? i'm so curious
oooh wow looking at the manga ichiba tag... the event has circle cuts too wowow

Background Art Category
I hope people understand that the Kowloon Generic Romance backgrounds were HAND PAINTED with ACTUAL PAINT (poster color).
I ADORE the Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu art direction, but please consider voting for KGR 🙏
i also did it as a hobby for many years (二次創作) and honestly if I didn't get so caught up in doing original comics I might still just be doing this as a hobby lol 😅
It's great you're having fun ! That's the important part
that's true if you live in a place where doujinshi culture is active then you feel more motivated to draw comics! it's extra effort if you live far away 😭
ooh i hope you can do an offline event next time you visit Japan! it's so fun!
Thank you!!!
And at the very end she told me she felt motivated and inspired to be a better editor 😭 I’m so happy! Let's encourage each other and do our best and grow 🙏💕
I gave a digital pdf of my new doujinshi comic to the editor i've been working longest with and she was like wow this is different from your old work! and then sent like a long list of skills she thought I improved (both art and story aspects)🥹🥹🥹
TYSM ilu... I feel so validated😭
that's true there's a lot of events in Japan that mangaka go to where they can interact with stores and readers (like signings for example)
people are understanding about foreign creators language barrier >< i've gotten letters in English by considerate readers even though i am fine reading jp
Ooh I think your art style would suit French comics very well! I wish you success 💕
I hope you can go someday! It's my favorite doujinshi event 🥹

I've had a lot of the same worries and I think I kept drawing doujins over and over to make sure like do I really want to do this or not...
That saying, you don't necessarily need to move to Japan to publish manga there! it is an advantageous position for getting manga work though
