Another 30+ year old uncirculated show. Includes a super early Earth Jam, a Maya Angelou inspired Futureman solo, and a rare Flecktones version of Distance/Winter's Edge - a medley of Bela tunes released on a Jerry Douglas album in the late 80's.
Setlist here: archivesincowtown.org/showinfo.php...
This is a free festival BTW, where else are you going to hear Patti Labelle, Public Enemy, The Violent Femmes, Al Green and Bela Fleck with SF Symphony for free?
Bluegrass legends Béla Fleck, Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas are headed to Mexico in December for Strings & Sol 2026.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Live at Telluride Music Festival on 1994-06-17 https://archive.org/details/bfft1994-06-17.Pfeil
Not only did soprano Renée Fleming and banjo player Béla Fleck, two legendary virtuoso artists with multitudes of awards, decide to do an entire album of music together...which is awesome...but they also got Dolly Parton to join in on a song to make it EVEN MORE AWESOME!! youtu.be/cqlyUZL1yuc?...
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Live at Green Acres Music Hall on 1998-09-12 https://archive.org/details/bfft1998-09-12.flac16
Tonight: Tony Trishka curated a stellar bill of banjo players. From Bela Fleck to Steve Martin to my personal favorite, Nora Brown. Great balance of styles and everyone kind of killed it. Tony's band with Michael Daves and Brittany Haas was awesome. An […]

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Live at Park West on 1995-08-16 https://archive.org/details/bfft1995-08-16.Pfeil
Not a new source, but a great duo show from Bela Fleck & Bruce Hornsby.

Bela Fleck's My Bluegrass Heart will be part of the Earl Scruggs Music Festival out in North Carolina this Labor Day weekend.
This is now the 5th 2026 date for My Bluegrass Heart, 3 of which are collaborations with Renee Fleming billed as The Fiddle and the Drum.

[2/2] The Flecktones played 16 shows, 2 a night over 10-nights. Playing almost every song from their first 3 albums plus a few surprises, like the jazz standard All the Things You Are, & an unreleased Amberjack - a tune that was shelved quickly. Bela reused the title for a diff song in the 2000s tho
[1/2] Just received a setlist dump that covers the Flecktones 1992 tour of Japan!
This was (at least) Bela's 3rd time touring Japan and the first for the Flecktones. Bela also toured Japan in 1981 with Spectrum and in 1984 with NGR.
Head over and check it out: archivesincowtown.org/yearspec.php...
Another 30 yr old Flecktones show surfaced today. A lot of trio-era tunes w/Paul McCandless guesting.
Check out the super rare "F# Tune": only ~20 plays, never released
Also unreleased, "D 6/8": played 3 times as much & even closed a few shows
So...is the Live Art era the greatest Flecktones era?
Confirmation of another My Bluegrass Heart show. Looks like the rumors of a tour later this year might be true. This is also the first 2026 My BG Heart date we’ve seen without Renee Fleming.
This is the 3rd date for the Béla Fleck/Reneé Flemming collaboration. Could we see a full tour over the summer...?
This will be (at least) the 26th different project Fleck has brought to Telluride over the last 44 years, not including the numerous house band/all-star jams he's taken part in.
“A Show of Hands” Turns 30: Victor Wooten Celebrates With Limited-Edition Yin-Yang Bass Statue
Thirty years ago, "A Show of Hands" changed the bass world. Now Victor Wooten is celebrating with a limited-edition Yin-Yang bass statue. Only 75 available. www.notreble.com/buzz/2026/02...
Perfect. Thanks!
Awesome! We caught a few shows as well, a jolly great time all around!
Any chance you recall if they played "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas" in Boston?
We have sets for most of those shows, but Boston was one that still has some questions: archivesincowtown.org/showinfo.php...
Apparently Bela Fleck & the Flecktones opened for Pat Benatar in 1991 at Universal Amp in LA.
Add Benatar to the list of legends the Flecktones supported in their first few years alongside Bonnie Raitt, Chicago, The Band, Grateful Dead, Take 6, Kenny Loggins, Crosby & Nash, Dr. John, Phish, + more.
« Bounce, Part1 » performed by Nate Smith, featuring Cory Wong & Victor Wooten, Live!
Enjoy, have a nice day everyone!

Today we shared Bela Fleck & the Flecktones appearance on Jay Leno from back in 1992. They actually played 2 songs on the show and Bela even got a small interview in between.
Set:
1. Life Without Elvis
2. Sex in a Pan featuring Branford Marsalis
Enjoy!
A cosmic hippo cameo in the latest comic from @cgricks.bsky.social
Excellent! Admittedly we aren't as familiar with that tune since I think this is the first live recording we have of it, but we should have thought to check it against that that album.
Thanks for the assist (and the follow)!
Here's info on the other date with Bela Fleck & Renee Fleming on May 23rd in Charleston, SC.
This celebration of Appalachian folk music is titled The Fiddle and the Drum.
We'll see if they add more dates with this lineup or if it's just a one-off event.

Not sure yet. We’ll update once we get more info.
Should be an interesting evening. Bela Fleck's My Bluegrass Heart band will return for this project.
This is not the first collaboration with Fleck & Fleming, they performed together in March of 2022 alongside Abigail Washburn and others at a COAL+ICE Exhibit in New York.
PS thanks KCBanjonut for a fantastic piece of Fleck history.
That's a 20-yr-old, mustachioed Bela Fleck with Jack Tottle, Pat Enright, and Mark Schatz.
Schatz played with Bela in many incarnations after Tasty Licks and Pat Enright was part of the Dreadful Snakes w/Bela. This and more on our site.
Also with our most recent updates is a setlist from the only Tasty Licks recording we have found. A short set from the Redgate BG Festival back in 1979!
Check it out on YouTube and let us know if you recognize the 3rd song (instrumental) as we can't quite place it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0Gy...
List of Bela Fleck touring acts including the Flecktones, New Grass Revival, Tasty Licks, and duo tours alongside Abigail Washburn, Edgar Meyer, and Chris Thile, plus many more. Current show count over Bela's 50 year touring history: 4791!
Digging deep into Bela Fleck history. Recent additions: 130+ shows from his 1st post-high school band, Boston-based Tasty Licks, and 35+ shows from his time in Spectrum, a KY-based bluegrass band.
Now over 4,700 Fleck shows and counting!
