They do look a bit naff! I’ll have a think about that!

The aesthetics and ergonomics are a touch ‘rudimentary’ (and indeed a touch oven like) but it feels pretty solid! I have a feeling it will work quite well for my car and holidays use case though…but the QMX-Mini runs rings around it for pedestrian portability!
The sBitx is definitely chonky! Heavy to with the metal case. Perfectly OK for my use case of home/car and holidays however😊
I see the v2 zbitx is out now…maybe that will have addressed the issues? Personally I wanted the extra power as well…and although the sBitx is significantly bigger, it’s not enough to worry me for car portable ops.
Crayford’s finest…as was the inventor, Hiram Stevens Maxim (and father of the ARRL founder, Hiram Percy Maxim)
Looking for the Fairbairn-Skyes and missing it…but I do like my Wilkinson 😈
It’s definitely a chonky rig…not a svelte piece of hardware like the QRP Labs rigs! However is does push out 20-30W and have the computer and monitor all built in…
Joe’s is Swansea…and Swansea is Joe’s! My preferred knife is the Wilkinson Sword Survival Knife…de rigour in the Badlands of Swansea Bay and the Gower
Ice cream from Joe’s Icecream in Swansea
My favs - vanilla ice cream w/ chocolate sprinkles, vanilla ice cream w/ toffee sauce & hundreds and thousands, and a (small!) ice cream sunday. Vanilla ice cream from Joe’s is unique and world class imho…my mum worked in the original outlet as a teenager, and my mum & dad courted there.
I think he had the zBitx - which by all accounts had some bugs and issues
The sBitx V3…which seemed better and more bug free (at this point) than the zBitx. A little bigger and heavier..but with 20-30W under the cover
Ooo…postie’s just delivered new toys. Sadly can’t play with it until this evening though😖
Maybe my motto would be similarly, except swap the cats part for technology or radio 😊
Oh yes, they have salty licorice or is that the netherlands ? Not to my taste nor the red licorice. However the Barratts sherbet fountain with its licorice "straw" was a perfect combination.
Yes - they have really strong & salty licorice…very much an acquired taste I suspect. Oh gosh - I haven’t had a sherbet fountain for years! I loved them though…tuckshop treasure from my youth!
It’s like Scandinavia and the Low countries…where licorice seems very popular. I can take a little bit…but not the really strong flavours you get there😱
lol! It has definitely improved in the last week or two - and this week seems positively tropical
🤣😂very probably!
A family member who’s travelling near Marlborough Sounds says it’s also very windy and a bit wet too !
Licorice flavoured ice cream also sounds pretty revolting…
That would definitely be my worst ice cream nightmare🤣😂
I’m afraid it’s not a flavour I’d like…the only thing that sounds worse would be if they were like Parma Violets 🤢
Absolutely! Definitely not a flavour I’d like🤢
Wise words!
Can’t say it’s not without a touch of trepidation…but overall I’m going to really enjoy the flexibility to tackle projects I’ve wanted to do for a while
I’m looking forward to the last day of the job…I may celebrate with something alcoholic as well…
That might be a challenge in Japan…aren’t the fault lines almost like contour lines there😳
I think this sort of sells the caution involved 😳 bsky.app/profile/minu...

There are some fab pubs in the list. I have pondered making this a bit of a retirement project to visit them all for a lunchtime pint. The West London pubs especially are a bit of a blind spot for me
