People can walk and chew gum at the same time (and if you're a mom, you can walk, chew gum, entertain a child, grow a child in utero, buy groceries, and schedule dr appts at the same time.)

Americans can follow multiple TV shows at a time. Feels like they can follow multiple news events, too.
