I wouldn't call either of these great literature for the age, but they certainly fit the bill. Both books provided smiles and good tears, just like I needed.
So, let me bring one of these books to you, and I will bring the other book to someone else. Please let me know.
I love you all.

After talking about what I tend to read, I told the bookseller there that I needed a recommendation for a book or books that were pleasant and nice, and that I didn't have the emotional energy for socio-culturally important books. I said that I would take whatever they recommended sight unseen.
After a difficult anti-ICE patrol a couple months ago, I stopped in Black Garnet Books (please support this black-owned independent store) on University Ave in Saint Paul. I was stressed out, and emotionally drained.
Image of the cover of the book, "Days at the Torumka Cafe" by Satoshi Yagisawa. The cover shows a tile-roofed cafe with a woman standing by the door, a man on a chair outside with a cup of coffee, and several stray cats doing stray cat things.
An image of the cover of the book, "The Healing Hippo of Hinode Park" by Michiko Aoyama. The cover is in cartoon style and shows a pink hippopotomus framed by a set of black monkeybars with a city skyline in the background.
I would like to pass on two books to anyone here in #SaintPaul or #Minneapolis who would be interested. 🧵
Jamie Farr is brilliant
That's a good one, too!
Wish I hadn't accidentally tapped in the middle of the Indian Ocean for one of my guesses.

RNs on my unit go through ~25 shifts of orientation in addition to days not on the floor.
I'd physically block a nurse with no orientation who was assigned to take care of a new transplant patient. Give me an overloaded assignment instead of having them there, which could result in graft loss.
and get paid well enough to live.
AI-powered gig work for #nursing. Is there anything even remotely good about this?
Worker protection aside, this seems terrible for patient safety, too, which isn't mentioned in the article. The idea of simply showing up somewhere and trying to jump right in and do patient cares is terrifying.
Was this picture in the E.D.? I know waits can be LONG there, and feel longer for patients on gourneys in the hallway. We recently brought a patient up to our floor who had been waiting 4 or 5 days.
@vcorenmitchell.bsky.social Victoria, we miss you. When does Only Connect come back?
Hey. My hospital.
Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad things aren't worse. I tell my patients, that as messed up as our system is, I am glad we live with the healthcare we have now, rather than thst of not many decades ago.
Hope your recovery is as eventless as possible.
If you see this, post something orange from your gallery

Sure has been fun puking my guts out all night long after eating chicken tenders from your Otsego, MN store.
It's like the tenders said, "See ya next time" with each bite.
Some people may say that eating Kwik Trip chicken tenders is a bad idea.
I say that maybe they were right.
THIS is a good game. I love it.

I certainly wouldn't have gotten the answer without looking at a different map, though.
Nice follow-up.
I'm driving to Elk River after work on Sunday to look at a bike. I'm so excited. First mountain bike since the late 90s.
I wish I knew Photoshop. Clearly, I need a picture of Rafiki holding up a bike, now.
University bathrooms are some of the best bathrooms. I used to kill time going stall to stall to see what people had written on the walls. That sign feels perfect.
I sold my bike today, and I'm a little sad. But I told it to a guy who was about my age when I started racing, and I can't help but be happy for him.
Time to look for a mountain bike, now.
I agree with you on both points.
Wish my coworkers felt the same about the food for our post work-weekend decompression outing.
A hole in linoleum tiles where people frequently step before opening a door in a stairwell
Whoever decided to put linoleum over original hexagonal tiles in the old Mayo building/hospital on the U of M campus should be prosecuted for crimes against archetectural dignity.
Big brain, boosted by bananas
Salmon-colored bike leaning against the wooden rail of a dock on a lake with a newly green willow reaching over still, reflective water.
It's a good day for a ride.
Wear sun screen, you pasty white folks.

I got a notification that I've been with Fairview for 7 years.
Hmmm...
I wonder what it's like to enjoy or have pride in the organization you work for.
Don't get me wrong. I love my unit and the interdisciplinary team I work with. But Fairview? Meh (At best).
