It's still a bit chilly outside and the weather forecast for Burns Night is a little breezy, but snowdrops are a hardy breed and always give a little hint of the lighter nights and warmer weather to come (we hope).

Merry Christmas everybody

Out beer heads to Lviv, Ukraine as part of a three vehicle humanitarian convoy. The supply of medicines, generators and clothing travelled from UK to Ukraine last week. However, the beer was a great source of delight and appreciation as the teams discovered them whilst unloading the aid from convoy!

Why does Wrong need a silent W.
To me Wright and Wrong would make more sense and that would leave Right to have just one meaning, opposite to left.

Congratulations to Dr Pàdraig MacAoidh (Peter Mackay) on becoming Scotland's first Gaelic Makar. In our experience our Makar ale brings out the poet in everyone. Hopefully Peter will try a pint when he comes to Scotland's National Book Town.

Real ales should be chilled and best taken around 11 to 13 degrees C, but they don't like to get too cold. Be kind to your beer this Christmas.

Yippee Ki-yay, our Makar Scottish Brown Ale at the Pigs Ear East London Beer & Cider Festival in Hackney last week. Not to everyone's taste, but lots of 3 and 4 out of 5s on Untappd too.

Big thank you to Kingdom Of Craft for our fabulous bespoke bottle opener. They are here with us at South Machars Community Centre - Whithorn for the Christmas Market on now until 2pm. Lots of lovely stuff to buy.

A touch of "Coals to Newcastle" today as I'm at The Ship Inn, Drummore today for their Christmas craft fayre.

Lots of nice people asking who did the design on our beer labels. Well it was Rosie at Fountainstonestudio&shop. Based in Bladnoch, Rosie came up with a design that celebrates where we are: Scotland's National Book Town, the river Bladnoch, the local Stone Circles and of course Beer & hops.

If you prefer your pints more down to earth, then we have a range of beers to suit you.

Busy few days coming up. We can't promise to make your moustache smile, but we've got a few nice beers to give it a try.

All set up at the Maxwell Hall in Port William today. Range of beers on sale including Reportage, Memoires, Botany Ale and a special on Festivale. Here until 4pm.

A little chilly in the brewery this morning so the fire has been lit. Today's shopping list now includes lagging for the cold water pipework!
