Only £25 from £10,000 in sponsorship !😍
I think QGIS is the most complicated software I’ve ever used.
We did the walk last Saturday and had beautiful weather! There were 67 walkers on the day. We have currently raised £9,776.10
(+ £2,272.19 Gift Aid). Thank you to anyone who has sponsored 😍

Cultural shibboleths to identify non posh people!
Thanks Mark! People have been so generous ❤️
Posh English are to blame!
The Met Office had the most favourable forecast last time we looked, so we are going with that one 😆
The walk is this Saturday! People have been incredibly generous. Even had a bake sale at work that raised £377! Additional sponsorship very welcome 🤗
Poor Locris!
Image of a Welsh poem in the bottom margin of NLW, Peniarth MS 1, fol. 28r. A translation of the poem below this reads: “May the highest lord, lord with a glimmering golden sword/ protect our goods for a short while and protect our people/ against false English and Irish and against the wrath of butchers/ and against a clamour and enchantment and against wolves and thieves/ against that one yonder who is evil, against rabid dogs/ against sheet lightning and thunder and against bad crwth-players/ and against the barren darkness of the Devil and against the poetry of Wiliam Siôn”
A poem composed early in the 16th century in a margin of the Black Book of Carmarthen begs God for protection from a series of enemies, including the English and the Irish, but the worst of all is saved for last: kerdd Wiliam Sion ‘the poetry of Wiliam Siôn’

I’m not sure I agree with your policies on cheese and onions crisps!
Nice. Also cooked a roast for 7 of us. Lamb, chicken, sausages, stuffing with sausage meat, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, red onion and courgettes. Steamed green beans and tenderstem broccoli. Peas. Yorkshire pudding. Chocolate cake for dessert. I might have over catered!
Footnote with a question mark – (San Salvatore / Bresica 781?)
What does the question mark indicate? "It might be that volume, but I've lost my index card"
With 200+ tickets claimed for my public lecture on the Bayeux Tapestry on 30 April, there are only a few spaces left! Get your free ticket here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/public-lec.... When they’re gone, they’re gone!
Highly recommend the nearby Warmley Waiting Rooms for refreshments
Thanks Martin :)
Ali was taking about this walk on BBC Bristol this morning! www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... @ 2:26:32
Neon lights that say “Bristol is always a good idea”
True!
If only you could get shelves for books … 🤔
Fancy knowing more about the Bayeux Tapestry? At a free public lecture and reception?? Look no further! 👁️ 👁️
Sign that says « CAUTION HEDGE HOG’S ABOUT »
I found the punctuation oddly upsetting
I love working on this project.
A photo of an ice cream machine with a sign reading, "Anything is possible with ice cream." Beneath that is a hand lettered sign reading, "No ice cream".

@kmcdono.bsky.social @danielwilson.bsky.social and I have a new OA article out: eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com?url=https%3A... It’s about the fragmented landscape of historical data, and what we can do about it to improve discoverability, sustainability and reuse.

Hello! It's two years since Thomas, my gorgeous son, died. Next month, Alison and I, along with around 30 friends and family, will be doing a memory walk in support of Children's Hospice South West. If you could spare a few quid in sponsorship, that would be 😍

That's okay. It was a long time ago :-)
I wrote that Welsh History Review article!
