At the end of the entry, I mention being sick for two months and feeling confused about it. I can tell you now what it was: a burnout.

I had been in a deeply terrible, exploitative situation for 3 years straight and it was physically destroying my body. It manifested as a bad cold & severe fatigue.

Not having to listen to microaggressions every single day of my life = amazing!

If people around you cannot respect you, it's time to go. I promise the world is much bigger than these sad little wannabe cults want you to believe.

19. IV 2016. / 23:58h Today, I got annoyed at work. I asked for 3 more sick days (plus I'd be working from home). Then [the boss] got irrationally mad over a scene I'd just started painting and he yelled at me. I was surprised by how calmly I managed the situation. He even got the poor [game designer from another team] involved and she was on the verge of tears. I think I'm going to quit tomorrow. I can't listen to all of that nonsense anymore, I feel stupider and stupider with each passing day. 21. IV 2016. / 00:20h Weeeellll theeen, I did quit! I told [the boss] everything that's been on my mind, and all he said was "Okay", and then he half-apologised for yelling. The point is that he doesn't seem to care about his behaviour at all and it's all about the money. I spent the rest of the day playing Guild Wars 2. I've been helping the new players and just chatting with random people. My brother visited and he was nice about my decision to quit. He understands and supports my decision. And me? I think I deserve more. To actually realise my own ideas, not "someone else's". I'm still coughing from being sick. It's been two months. I thought I'd gotten better, but I feel worse today. I don't know what's going on with me. :(

Today marks 10 years since I left the gaming industry! 🥳

Never regretted my decision.
My life isn't easy by any means, but I'm much happier and thankful for all the wonderful people I met over the past decade.

The giant moon appears in the background behind 2 hills. All seems peaceful, until you look down to the horse's reflection. A horse skeleton is looking straight at you, instead of the reflection of the beautiful horse you would expect.

Kerberos, the hound of hell comes out to play. A 3 headed german Sheppard puppy with a snake as a tail is jumping out of an entrance to the Underworld. Behind there are a few columns and at the distance the sea and the moon. Little boar babies sleeping in the safety of the rocks look at the puppy.

3 yellow puppies are chillin' on an abandoned camp. One of the puppies happily sets himself inside a warm cave. They found a warm quiet place to settle, with some food still around. In reality this camp was recently a battlefield where a dragon and a knight beat each other. Their bodies silently wither away while some puppies find this excellent place to stay for a while.
