I built a web-based production dashboard. With a URL and login credentials, someone can direct one of our swim productions from anywhere in the world.

I built a review interface to streamline the use of the live stream for official reviews.

Yesterday we produced four volleyball games and two soccer games. My office was 86° when I arrived at 8am, was above 90° most of the day and then down to 87° when I left at 11pm.
I'm moving our comms infrastructure from an x32 to a Symetrix Prism DSP. It will be way more flexible and have more room for growth. The initial design has 2 productions with 2 PLs each and controls to switch each camera between production A and B.

I created an Athletics Communications Discord. If you work in the field, please consider joining.

Rough day... Softball TD bailed, Lacrosse TD bailed, I had to do PxP and TD for our final Lacrosse game of the year
Remote baseball production, 7 tennis streams and about to start a Lacrosse production. Organized chaos.
One remaining home match for each tennis team and the weather looks good, so I guess it's time to install the cameras for a live stream.
Tackling neutral site baseball broadcasts with a remote kit. The core is a JVC HC500, streaming SRT through a Haivision Gateway on AWS to vMix on campus. I'm using SpaceCommz.io for comms and Dolby.io for return video and mix-minus for PxP.
Doing play-by-play for women's lacrosse. Here's my spotting chart. It's fully automated and only takes 60 seconds to update.
Sometimes I spend my day programming, sometimes it's graphic designing, sometimes it's producing live broadcasts, and sometimes it's spending time in a muddy field trying not to get hit by a medieval war weapon
Static page with three iframes. The only complication is Companion. I'm using Tailscale so I can reach the local
companion server.
Last year, I built a live tennis results web app to drive broadcast graphics. I've slowly been adding to it. It's easy to update score from a phone. It can export stat crew XML files. As of today, it uses AI to generate a recap release.
Last basketball game of the year. Here are all the cables and converters that were in the score table.
Something I've been testing... Dolby.io, Spacecommz, and Companion in iframes to create a single webpage to run a broadcast from my phone.
I have a great crew helping produce tonight's basketball games. It's nice when I can just be an engineer.
I've got four dead studio strobe batteries dead after only one use. Apparently the chargers don't like when they get too low. Trying to force a charge directly to the batteries. It's worked on one so far.
I posted a video of our setup to broadcast swimming years ago and still get comments on it, so here's an update.

Another proof of concept. This time I built a women's basketball play-by-play Spotting sheet in Google Sheets. It automatically updates roster, stat, schedule, and coaching info.

As a proof of concept, I built a women's basketball play-by-play call sheet in Excel that automatically updates roster and stat information from the NCAA database.

Helped out CC Media tonight. It's always fun to use professional equipment.
We picked up a second eng camera so now we can have multiple manned cameras for basketball. I ran some more coax and cat6 and installed a box that's attached to the wall and clearly labeled. I even color coded the cables.
Emailing Word rosters as attachments is dumb. It is insecure, inefficient, and antiquated. There are numerous ways to improve the process but in the athletic communications field, "this is how we've always done it" is the best reason to do anything.
I refreshed my basketball scorebug and added score update animations.
I'm testing a web page production switcher setup. Companion and Dolby.io in frames and Tailscale for access. Easy access from phone or tablet
