A modular origami mandala in dark brown and white

"Roble," a new #modular #origami #mandala I've been working on for a few days. To get this "checkerboard" result I alternated sides of the paper with each unit. Deciding whether to share step photos or wait to diagram it for my second book (for which I haven't really started diagramming yet)...

Watching a livestreamed concert by Darlingside, one of my favorite contemporary bands. Banter! New music! Old favorites! I love it.

I improvised it on the spot and gave it to a store employee, but if I get time I'll try to do it again and photograph the steps.

Yesterday I saw a store with an origami-like bird logo which actually looked foldable, so I asked a clerk (from another store where we were actually shopping) for paper and managed to reproduce it closely 🤗. (I improved the tail after I took these photos but forgot to take new ones...) #origami
