Some people really require very little to hook their bullshit onto others.

They just like to "educate" people while not actually being able to properly read

I think it's the mix of open world, ubisoft clutter and having a kill list of 100 people that really break any attempt at storytelling.

Assassin's Creed Shadows

AC in fuedal Japan where you play both a shinobi and a samurai.

Liked the world, the setting, the sneaking with Naoe, the blunt combat of Yasuke. The story was a bit bland, and I lost interest due to too many ingame distractions.

Wanderstop

A strange mix of cozy farming and tea making with dealing with trauma and change.

Strong characters, especially Boro, and an interesting narrative. The β€œStanley Parable creator” framing made me expect more voicework though.

Didn’t fully click.

My interest dropped after seeing several videos painting it as a disappointment.

Happy to have played it, because I actually didn't have any issues with the game at all. Loved the world and the characters.

It's still very much a standard ubisoft game but the added Star Wars theme worked for it.

Star Wars Outlaws

A fun space adventure where you’re basically a female Han Solo with a cute thieving axolotl sidekick.

Loved the worlds, cities, speeder travel, space battles, and even playing sabacc. Enjoyable story, just a bit predictable.

Played it for 20-30h.

Tech these days hardly changes, popular manufacturers found out ppl will buy their new iteration anyway without actually improving anything.

The Outer Worlds 2

Funny space rpg is very much more of what they offered in 1.

It looks and plays great and the expanded flaw system added some fun tradeoffs.

I didn't like my companions and the story was very predictable, had a hard time staying interested.

I think a lot of people bounced off it. The reasoning I saw most was the non-lap races. People did find a way to skip those in multiplayer and then Nintendo "fixed" it πŸ™ƒ

and Roger

Decided to stick with the short emotional narrative games and this one delivers. Clocking in about 1-1.5 hours it gives you a very impactful story with interesting gameplay mechanics that had small similarities to those of Florence.

Have played a few of these, didn't hear about Captain Wayne before. Looks interesting, added it to my wishlist.

The Beginner's Guide

A very short game of about 1.5h by the dev of The Stanley Parable.

Didn't know what to expect when I started it but it was very interesting. The narration got me wanting to see more and got me really into the quite emotional story.

Skate Story

Skateboarding through levels as a fragile demon made of glass.

Solid skating with nice visuals and music that compliment each other. Interesting gameplay mechanics and a really weird story.

On Steam Deck valve also had scalper protection by only allowing one purchase per customer and requiring a minimum age or playtime on the account.

I'm sure the price will still be higher than most expect, but I'd put more trust in a random youtubers guess than this retailer 😊

Valve doesn't use 3rd party sellers right? Steam Decks are only sold by Valve over here. Why would it even be on a retailer site?

A 3rd party seller putting a price on its website, very trustworthy leak source πŸ˜‚

With Steam Deck and Steam Deck Oled they handled their own sales, why would they now suddenly do 3rd party?

That's pretty cool, I thought that was only available with SteamOS.

Forced upon? It's better supported and easier to understand for most.

Everyone is free to use Linux but not everyone is a fan of figuring out which distro to use and how to configure Proton to get all their games running properly.

Valve made huge progress by having it preinstalled and simplified.

It depends from person to person, but I think nobody has it all together, we each struggle with different things.

I definitely don't have it all together, some aspects of my life are more together than when I was 30, but with that come entirely new challenges.

Just play the hand you're dealt

Poster for the game Mika and the Witch's Mountain. Shows a young red headed girl with a oversized witch's hat flying on a broom

2nd game of this year

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain.

Adorable broom‑flying delivery adventure, sweet cast, cozy vibes.

It was a fun 5ish hour ride. Only tiny gripe: there’s a missable achievement which I almost got. Would have stuck around longer if that didn't annoy me.

Well you made it sound like a big deal πŸ˜„ Glad I played it, just wish there was more variation/challenge in the mascot part.

I didn't mind the checklists of tasks, especially with the car being a joy to drive around.

The achievements I had to get, was just missing a few after finishing the story πŸ˜„

Haven't gotten one myself yet but it should be. Been eying the machanism connector for the steam deck to hang it up on one.
