Oops on the Poppy (Greater Celandine) - thanks @naturelark.bsky.social for reminding me! I glimpsed your message before it disappeared and ‘age verification’ -scam, perhaps? - won’t let me access messages.

First image, in particular, just spectacular.
I’ve yet to see either this year!
Anther four from the #CabbageFamily - Eastern Rocket, Greater Celandine, Smith’s Pepperwort and Charlock. #WildflowerHour
Great image!
It’s #CabbageFamily time on #WildflowerHour! Honesty, Shepherd’s Purse, Cuckooflower, Danish Scurvygrass, Garlic Mustard and Hedge Mustard are all having a good year so far round west Wiltshire.
Daft moth!
Rescued from what?
I was very relieved that the Ash felling work hadn’t affected this population in Becky Addy Wood, Jeremy.
And some #notWoodlandPlants for #WildflowerHour Crosswort, Germander Speedwell, Spring Sedge on the ‘ramparts’ at Avebury, Wild Plum, Hairy Violet, Glaucous Sedge and Field Woodrush. All in Wiltshire.
Fab selection!
Some #WoodlandPlants for #WildflowerHour great favourite Herb Paris, Bluebell, Greater Stitchwort, Wild Garlic (no flowers there yet but such a lovely setting), Goldilocks Buttercup and, less pleasingly, masses of Few-flowered Garlic covering wood floor and verge near Colerne.
One of two groups of Harlequin Ladybirds with lichen on a sarsen at Avebury yesterday #WildWebsWednesday
I can get behind that! Though I thought it was yesterday 🤔😉
So where has this hop put itself? The old, long re-purposed brewery buildings! Would be nice to think it’s a relic.
Fabulous!
Ran out of time last night but these were my best finds last week, both in Trowbridge. Smith’s Pepperwort Lepidium heterophyllum (many!) and Eastern Rocket Sisymbrium orientale #WildflowerHour @bsbibotany.bsky.social
Wow! What a lot you got!
Thanks Jeremy - yes, masses of it in a wood where I searched unsuccessfully a few years ago!
Lovely, Moira!
Very late for #WildflowerHour but here are Moschatel, Cuckoo Pint, Cuckoo-flower, Slender Speedwell, Cowslip and Wild Garlic from Wiltshire
Wonderful to see them in such profusion!
That rings a bell - my mother perhaps
And today in Trowbridge. Irresistible little plant.
I was about to check the DDb with mouth agape and eyes like saucers!
Dappled not Blotched
#UrbanBotany is the best! (As well as all the other kinds!). Corsican Hellebore Helleborus argutifolius, Blotched Hawkweed Hieracium scotostictum and Silver Ragwort Jacobaea maritimum. I really admire these opportunists.
Interesting looking sedge? buds? to the left of it
Definitely over-achieving there Jeremy! 😄 Well done!
Quite - a real surprise in an equally surprising urban patch of Great Brome!
