its not quite as good, I agree, but it's so close that most people will only notice for highly specific things regarding water, grass, high contrast & speed scenes
which is why I'm breaking out
only #nasa people are likely to need the from 1.96MB start using 1080p 30fps vp9 10-bit cq 25 (I think, no longer in que history sadly should've written it down :p) to vp9 10-bit cq 18 4k 59.94fps for those differences
but, for #youtubers that have the space & bandwidth its nothing so its a why not

But the file size for 4k 30fps is 25.2 MB
& Av1 12.6 MB
Barely worse quality vp9 10 bit at very slow 1080p 30 fps has file size 5.21MB but noticeable

Slightly, for a more than double the size & with generational loss from transcoding YouTube does

Slower preset is slightly smaller than slow 5.17MB with it being effectively the same as slow barely enough & very slow is only justifiable if extremely needed for fast shots & high contrast with large changes that need to be processed & seen, like grass & small surface details

Very slow retained the same size, slightly better dark color information & detail

From starting at 1.96MB from an uncompressed 4k 60fps @davinciresolvetr.bsky.social avi file that was 8.04 GB for 6.5 secs of footage as a av1 10bit constant quality 20 1080p 30fos but had big loss in quality
