Diana Magnay: "Amal Khalil was doing what a journalist should do, incredible bravery to go down there & try & document what was happening in her country & lets be honest about this, Israel has targeted & killed other journalists.. they have killed hundreds of journalists in Gaza"

Be aware that this has been demonstrated to apply to private involvement in the NHS. It never, ever, makes anything better. Apart from the profits of said private company of course.

Funnily enough, the name Dr Upton is registered in as female in Australia is the same name that she was registered in as female in the UK. I dunno... but... could this be because it's her actual name and gender?? There is zero evidence for Martina Navratilova's defamatory claim because it's untrue.

Palantir: We believe the West has been too soft on Asia and the global south so we want to build AI weapons to win the "clash of civilisations" and rule the world.

Keir Starmer: Oh goodie, would you like access to all our NHS data? How about control of our military systems?

I have yet to see any coverage that these migrations were happening before the boats, but the people were coming in the backs of lorries. Migration Watch (I know, I know...) puts the figure for lorry arrivals as approx 8500 per year but there could have been many more who went undetected.

The need to vet first then appoint falls into the category of the bleeding obvious... I couldn't start a different role at the hospital I worked at without being DBS checked and all other checks done AND I ALREADY WORKED THERE.

No shit, Sherlock. The sooner the world especially US citizens wake up to this, the better.

And what would be the basis for dismissing someone I wonder? I can only think of refusing to comply with a reasonable instruction but demanding that someone stop being critical isn't in my view reasonable. This is bullying and the staff should bring a grievance.

Since the war on Iran began on Feb 28, Israel has launched near-daily attacks on Lebanon, Gaza, and the occupied West Bank.

In that time, Israel killed at least 107 people, permitted only 8% of medical evacuations, and admitted just 20% of aid trucks into Gaza.

I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

I used to work with a guy who had an elaborate theory about how American evangelicalism is a uniquely American folk religion with a somewhat tenuous connection to Christianity as the rest of the world practices it. I should see what he thinks about the news lately.

This is beyond parody. I'm not a Catholic, but I am increasingly impressed by Pope Leo. I'd be interested to know who Trump thinks he is "healing" (if that's what he's trying to portray).

523 Arrests in London

The Met are yet to justify to the public why they U-turned on their policy to not make arrests following the High Court ruling that the proscription of Palestine Action is unlawful.

There has been no legal status change since Feb 13. Why the arrests now?

Country that lectures Iran on democracy arrests another 523 people for peacefully protesting The absurdity surrounding the UK’s treatment of Palestine Action and its supporters has reached new lows.

Former Met Police chief can sees an obvious problem with this.

He said: “I think the difficulty is, when you’ve got 700 or 800 people who are willing to be arrested, that just isn’t practical. The optics of this will be very challenging for the police”

No shit.

Come on, peeps. It was a "minor administrative error". It's not like he did something really serious, like accidentally claiming £2.50 too much in benefits.

‘I wished for death’: Sexual violence in Israel’s prisons is an ‘organised state policy’
Palestinian testimonies reveal how sexual violence, including rape using objects and dogs, is approved by 'highest levels' of Israeli leadership

‘I wished for death’: Sexual violence in Israel’s prisons is an ‘organised state policy’ Palestinian testimonies reveal how sexual violence, including rape using objects and dogs, is approved by 'highest levels' of Israeli leadership

The testimony here about sexual violence by Israel against Palestinian prisoners is so beyond the pale everyone must see it.

It is so bad I can’t in good conscience share a quote other than the headline, which somehow manages to understate the horror within.

Trump logic:

Trump says the aim of his war on Iran is to re-open the Strait of Hormuz. The strait was open as usual until he started the war.

Now his latest plan for the strait is to... launch a US blockade of it! Pursuing his aim of re-opening it by closing it even more.

Artificial - definitely. Intelligence - nul points. Seriously, I find this creepy. It tells you what you want to hear and gradually distorts your thinking. Some people are aware of this and rise above it, but too many are not.

I'm not convinced that he wrote this himself, given his inability to string two words into a sentence. It's too long for someone with a minute attention span and too coherent for someone with dementia. It's his thoughts and beliefs, but I suspect someone else's words (maybe even AI generated).
