Plus I have to be at the venue at 6AM Friday morning to coordinate things and oversee the volunteers. I am NOT a morning person! But I am grateful I have this job, so I will put on a chipper facade on Friday until my coffee kicks in.
I will be wishing I could nap under my desk afterwards!

The nonprofit I work for is having its big annual fundraising breakfast at 7AM Friday & I have to spend Thursday evening at the venue setting things up, otherwise I'd be at Rhys' show in DC that night. 😭

Why is it that while IMO hot coffee is delicious and iced coffee is delicious, lukewarm coffee is blech?

No, Stede is not going to let his mind go there. It feels like he’s cheating on Sam. Sam, who is perfect for him. Sam, who was the first person he’d told about coming out to Mary and their decision to divorce. Sam, who became his friend-with-benefits–a relationship that had grown into more over time. Sam, who wants to be his husband. Sam, who makes him feel… who makes him feel…? Stede isn’t sure how to end that thought. He and Sam pass the time so well together. It’s easy, like breathing. But is that love? The sex is good; of course it is, but they’re both so busy, they literally have to schedule it in. Does Stede want to get married again? Does he want to be Sam’s husband? Shouldn't he be ecstatic this time, not questioning everything just like he did when he was engaged to Mary? He tries to shut off his brain for the night, no closer to having answers than he was any of the nights since the week before, when he’d found the ring.

I fixed the part where I wrote myself into a corner, and I'm almost to 12K. The final word count will probably be closer to 15K. I have a big project due at work on Friday, so I won't get much writing done this week, but I hope to be finished with the 1st draft and ready for a beta reader by May.
