I think I’m in the honeymoon phase of treatment - first week down, not feeling great, but different, and ‘better’ than I have in a while, in a lot of ways, weird symptoms aside. I know it’s gonna get bad, but for now, I’ll take it.

But I have been, in my eyes, firmly within the David-Bowie-as-Thin-White-Duke thin bracket for a while now.

I’ve joked with Catherine and an old pal, relating my frame in terms of actors’ weight loss for roles. At the time I said I was about at Cillian-Murphy-as-Oppenheimer thin. My buddy replied, ‘just don’t get to Matthew McConaughey in ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’ thin.’ 😅

Station to Station has been playing in my head for weeks - pretty much every time I look at myself in the mirror. I’ve lost so much weight - about 15ish pounds - which is a lot for someone who was already on the thin side.

Whew! I finished it! I really wanted to finish this before I started treatment, and I managed to do it, bit by bit. As I write this, it occurs to me that it seems like a pretty good metaphor for the next 6 weeks of treatment - chunk it out and get there bit by bit. I can do this.

But I hope you know I need to conserve what little energy I have for my health, and I have to bury my head in the sand for a while. Seeing his face or hearing his name gets me too worked up and I need to keep my stress levels down, so please excuse me not joining the protest for the time being.
