DYK that Utica’s art museum is unparalleled for a small city, with multiple masterworks by Pollock, Kandinsky, de Kooning, Rothko, Baziotes, Mondrian, and Cole? It’s on par with the collection at Yale. Its building is also a modern masterpiece designed by Phillip Johnson. www.munson.art
People 40-50 years from now will look back at the standard treatments in horror. We are so very close to realizing the incredible promise of immunotherapies that were little more than Hail Marys just a few years ago.

Rayburn was functionally obsolete over 20 years ago and changes to security and modernization of various spaces only masked the fact that very little/nothing has been done to update the foundation and infrastructure like HVAC (lots of asbestos!). END/
But the building is built into the side of a hill and likely takes a serious pounding from drainage, the underground parking garage, and the millions of visitors over the years. 3/
Personally it's my favorite of all the Capitol complex buildings with marble and mid-century modern elements. 2/
The Rayburn House Office Building has not undergone a major renovation in its 60-year history. It is now at risk of ‘catastrophic system failure' with repairs potentially taking 15-20 years at unknown cost.
