Does anyone use White Rose Maths but solely electronically (so students answering worksheets on iPads)? I’m sure I saw someone on Twitter do it once and I’d like to ask questions!

After doing SATs for years, today was my last (at least for a while). Next year I’ll be in a new school, new country, new role and new year group. It’ll all be very… new.

After the previous two years very happy with this year’s paper.

More nice and fair papers today. Very pleased to see a Reasoning paper which was succinct and not wordy too. #SATs

The nicest, fairest Reading paper I’ve ever administered. I’m expecting a high pass threshold in July. Q31 was a pain though. #SATs

Time limit is silly in this exam. They should be able to showcase their reading ability without it.

Yes and wasn’t she visiting her war wounded grandchild? Poems can be good for a lesser word count but the greater use of figurative and flowery language can make it really hard for some. So I’d rather avoid today.

I think it’s been on mine for years! There’s pros and cons to having a poem on the test.

There’s one big question to be answered tomorrow. Will this be the year a poem is finally used again in the Reading paper? #SATs

I have developed a new teaching ick. Advisors and consultants who say a strategy / a scheme of work is “powerful”.

Took some children to a sports event tonight. A Schools Games values competition. Some of the behaviour I saw was utterly ridiculous. Over-competitiveness, cheating, arguing with others, over-the-top celebrations, lying. And that was just the other adults. It was honestly shocking.

Turns out my family do listen to my work moans. Merry Christmas!

In my class this year I have 7 SEN children, with 3 more being added to the register soon. Add three more who have SEMH needs. That’s 13 children who require additional support and I have no TA.
