If I had a nickel for everytime I was called a "woke pastor" for literally quoting scripture. Caring for the poor, dignity for immigrants, crossing racial divisions - all of these are supremely BIBLICAL. To claim anything else is to deny the very word of God. IDK 'bout you, but I'd rather be "woke"

Choosing to serve others helps me love them.

When I serve the very ones I would prefer to quietly despise, serving causes me to know them, and knowing them changes…most everything.

Regardless of where she lands in the larger scope of orthodoxy, I want to make clear that Bishop Budde's apeal during the service WAS absolutley biblical. Regardless of what she has said elsewhere, an appeal to mercy is not the same as a justification of sin, regardless of the crime.
