*always try to make it high high high quality
Or maybe my secret is being a total void of self worth. Nothing to lose. Nothing to gain. The writing can't change things in either direction. No neuroses. Nothing in it for me soul wise. All that matters is the reader. So make it high high high quality.
My writing advice is to always treat writing like a job. Try very hard to sever the connection between your work and your sense of yourself as a person. I didn't believe that my ability to move warehouse palettes said anything about my self worth. But I still wanted to be good at moving them.
Did someone decide these women's experiences, if shared with the audience via typical means of preserving anonymity, weren't interesting enough? Did that happen? 'These women describing the murders of their children, we need to spice that up visually. People won't be glued to the screen otherwise.'
The Netflix documentary The Investigation of Lucy Letby takes the stories of women whose babies were murdered and tells them using AI-generated characters who stutter and 'cry'.
Did someone think that using the voice of an actor over some b-roll wouldn't be emotional enough for the audience?

"On the stage of the main screen, your chosen shell cycles through poses, preening before the one-way glass that separates it from you. You cannot stay here forever, held in the virtual arms of your remote handlers, who croon motivational lullabies into your sleeping mind."
