Totally! It’s an time investment in future productivity. That’s legitimate.

I’m totally working what are you talking about
The Oxford comma is the hill I will die on. It is not optional. Full stop.
Oh and yes, I did contact my professor to voice my complaint about the book and urge her to find a more inclusive book with real research about trans folks
the brave souls who stood up to the tyranny of Vietnamese children by riddling them with bullets and drenching them in napalm and the equally innocent participants in every other conflict
Disappointed with my psych book for not even mentioning the existence of trans people in the section on "Sex-Role Development." I did a textbook search for the term "transgender" and there was one result... In the "Psychological Disorders" chapter. We haven't gotten there yet, but I'm unimpressed.
“When the supper bell rang, the sound was deafening,” is the first sounding of a bell in the series and comes in Catelyn V. After this moment Catelyn’s story will take on a new course that will tragically end in bells for her as well. The bell summons Cat down to the common room of the Inn at the Crossroads where she will ultimately arrest Tyrion and provide that spark that ignites the tinderbox that is the Seven Kingdoms currently. The events that follow the tolling of this bell mark the beginning of an arc for Catelyn. Her course changes from returning to Winterfell and instead sends her off in the direction of the Eyrie, never to return to Winterfell again as Catelyn Stark. The consequences of her decision, however, aren’t confined to her own story. Her choices set off a chain of events that will affect every character because as Martin likes to show us, no choice happens in a vacuum.
The next time we hear a bell, “high lords and serving girls alike broke off what they were doing and moved to the balustrade” to observe Tyrion’s trial at the Eyrie (AGOT Catelyn VII). They come to see for whom the bell will toll as Tyrion has elected a trial by combat that will necessarily result in the death of one of the combatants. This particular death happens to be the one of Ser Vardis Egen, but once again George is visiting the theme of interconnectedness between people and actions. Egen’s death isn’t just the end of a single, seemingly unimportant, life. Egen’s death pays for Tyrion’s life, and Tyrion’s life will have an impact on almost all the major plot elements.
Daenerys V is bookended by two sets of bells that fit neatly with the life and death themes we have been discussing. First, “bells rang, a sudden clamor of bronze birds” as Daenerys successfully eats the horse's heart to confirm in the eyes of the Dothraki that she is carrying a prince. This is shortly followed by the prophecy of the dosh khaleen that this prince will be “the stallion who mounts the world.” The bells announce the future birth of a prince, yet as the chapter closes we will see the opposite occur. At the end of the chapter we witness the demise of Viserys, also a prince. In the lead up to his death by crowning Daenerys observes that “it had grown so silent in the hall that she could hear the bells in Khal Drogo's hair, chiming softly with each step he took.”
I wrote three pages, but I was in no way done. Here are some excerpts:
yeah intrusive thoughts are not only a hallmark of bipolar. people without that diagnosis suffer from it too. it's just fucking terrible because your brain is the culprit, it's betraying you.
I understand. Refocusing your attention sounds simple, but it’s not when you’re under a barrage of your own thoughts and they won’t stop coming. Probably the worst aspect for me of hypomania or mania is the volume and persistence of intrusive thoughts.
I know man. It sucks when it just won't shut up and you can't make it go away. I'm sorry you're going through it. I hope you get some peace soon.
Yeah easy mistake to make.
THANK YOU. Borderline abuse. My poor pawpaw was apparently a Masshole. Yeah I said it. Come for me.
Omg I just learned my first word from my bio mom. I always thought it was "agua" (water). No. According to mom that came later. It was actually word numer 3 or 4. My first word is horrififying. It was... Massachusettes. 😭
A Song of Ice and Fire explores the theme of interconnectedness between all humankind and the idea that events and actions have a rippling effect that leaves no one untouched. Bells mark death, and death generates rebirth as death must pay for life.
Damn I was cooking with fire in this.

Uhhhhh I started a 3 page essay about The Bells in the final episode of GOT? In 2021? With quotes from John Donne's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" sermon in 1623? What?
just remember, your brain is a big fat liar that tells you lots of lies. mostly about yourself. tell that shit to fuck off and eat a pancake or something. 🤗 (much easier said than done, but really, just remember other people think you're great)
Moral development, postconventional level: For the first time, people may become aware of discrepancies between what they judge to be moral and what society has determined to be legal.
Seems like many Americans don't get here. "No one broke any laws" or "they broke the law" is as far as they get.
Well I actually know she also likes gay smut. We’ve overlapped a couple of books. I just don’t know how to be like, yeah no straights at all please lol
True. I mean we couldn't really be friends if she didn't.
My coworker who I really want to be friends with keeps recommending me smut books. One problem: they're all het. I don't know how to tell her I'm bigoted against straight people and will only read gay smut.
Girl, have faith this season. They built a real professional team! Once Ozuna’s bat gets hot, watch out bitches. Yesterday’s loss was a tough one to swallow, but it’s gonna be different this season. (I am new and not as jaded, but my Rays turned it around after being a joke so the Pirates can do it)
Dom Casmurro by Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis, English translation. Classic Brazilian novel. I’m pretty sure I still don’t understand wtf happened. I will appreciate that fact that we do world lit all of my junior year.
I wonder if bsky will suspend me for saying I go to bed dreaming of the violent overthrow of the US government…
Own your vibes! Fuck the haters! I’m going to work in tights with bats on them even though the losers will tell me all day that “its not spooky season” (incorrect)
Scrunchies are back. Why were they ever out? Nothing like a scrunchie for a secure bun. I have like 4 more scrunchie patterns to make and im chomping at the bit 🧶
Hey! It was Easter!
Muffins for morale on Saturdays. These are toasted almond muffins with a lemon glaze (there are almonds in the muffins too).
Ahh the NYT. Always on the right side of history.
Yesterday a student at another campus was confronted by security after he verbally assaulted a staff member. He told security he had a gun. Apparently the local cops don't consider stating you have a gun as an explicit threat. At a SCHOOL. No best just go harass the real menace: homeless people.
