This is such an attack on our freedom. And such a dangerous precedent to set for the future.

It was freaking out for me, not connecting to the Internet for a bit. I just turned my wifi off and on again, then it was fine.

I've been on it for a minute. It was freaking out at the start, but it's up and running now. Apparently Trump is giving the 90 day extension on Monday, and negotiating a sale of 50% of bytedance's shares to whoever he chooses.
So still pretty fucked situation.
But it should be working soon.

Tik tok is back up for the time being, but don't forget, Trump may have been the person to make it possible, but just like EVERYONE else in the government, he doesn't represent us.

I think, especially in the last two days, just being on tt opened a lot of minds. Ik mine was. I saw people coming to terms with their country betraying them, the unity in that was amazing. And having to leave it behind is so jarring.

The amount of cultures it exposed me to was incredible. It diversified my interests so greatly, and made me think about so many different perspectives. And because it wasn't highlighted, or forced, it felt so genuine.

Right!? It's like I keep finding worse and worse layers of this garbage lasagna that congress baked me.
And I'm surrounded by people saying "just eat your dinner, is good for you!"

And even more, you could watch those conversations develop in real time. If you followed a topic, you didn't need to go out of your way to get updates on it. It was low commitment enough to let you in the door, but you also wouldn't show up if you weren't interested.

I just cant stand it. The whiplash from everyone on tt coming together, talking about the importance of the 2nd amendment, at the same time as class consciousness. It was like, a brief moment, we had the best of eachother. And now I'm here. Reading complaints about people who go to church.

I think this is what's happened with tt too. We, who were there, know what the government took from us. We know how serious this is. But that's cause we were there. We saw it happen. For everyone that didn't. It's just a stupid dance app.

And that's another example. So many people think they can fight. Or that they can survive being attacked. But I've literally seen people stabbed in the neck, and go from squaring up, to dead in 30 seconds.

Because it's easy to say "nobody should own weapons to hurt people" but that just means that 4 large men with hammers and knives can do whatever they want to you, if your police station has a bad response time.

Nobody showed up for them until the next day. What were they supposed to do if they weren't fast enough to escape? Just be stabbed to death? The idea that people shouldn't be allowed to carry mace, or weapons is so sinister.

I found myself completely in shock, that a government could tell it's people "you just have to survive with your attackers for 20-45 minutes until police get there, if they decide to show up at all" and they didn't.

I think there's truth to the idea that you can't appreciate anything, until you've actually experienced it.
Earlier this year, my Canadian friend was attacked outside his workplace by five men with knives. He survived, but it sent me spiraling down Canada's self defense laws.

We're all stuck here (blue sky, the us, earth) and we gotta figure it out.
If we got an apartment with 6 other strangers, would we not have to talk about who does the dishes?
Why are we so quick to hate eachother over such pointless shit?

It's not even just that, like yeah, the tt hate is stupid, and ignorant. But also like. I just can't ignore people writing off all conservatives, or liberals, or classically trained musicians, or anything. Because wtf does it really matter?

Everyone wants to advocate for human rights and decency, until it's about the people in their actual lives.

It's like everyone just wants to be superior. But we're all just as fucking lost. People would rather pick up some minor difference, and pretend like that invalidates a whole group, so they can feel more secure in themselves.

You're not better than someone because you have different interests, or better apps, or read more. None if it fucking matters.
We're all just stuck here, trying to figure out what to do with ourselves.
