Based on experience it’s true that a single private meeting can derail entire planning efforts and goals. It’s one of the biggest struggles I found out about as a planner.
So far i’ve biked just over 15% of Milwaukee. It’s amazing how paradoxically small but big the city feels
Re-naturalized river running through a small but lush, green valley within an urban park. church steeple peeks over the horizon, centered in frame.
Agreed. MMSD’s past work gives me some hope that they can slow down the Honey Creek in McCarty Park similar to how they did in Pulaski. My parents live down the street from McCarty park and there’s multiple houses with foundations blown out. I fear these storms are going to just keep happening.
lol, I’m surprised shaved chests are even a thing, itchiest decision of my life the time I fell into the pressure.
My parents still have a pantry in the basement! Seems like it’s just an all around approach to raise everything off the ground
Pulaski this morning at like 10 am
A bronze plaque describing the Valley Park Flood Management Project in the Piggsville neighborhood on the west side of Milwaukee, WI, USA. The Menomonee River is flowing well above flood stage in the background.
MMSD is probably going to get flack for sewage overflows, but all my neighbors in Piggsville owe them a debt of gratitude. Without this wall the neighborhood would be under many feet of water right now. #Milwaukee #flooding #rain
this morning’s commute by bike was awful. wear a mask if you can!
having recently returned from japan, the autonomy kids have in public spaces is incredible. here, children are seemingly an inconvenient, inferior social group that must be controlled at all times for their own safety

It’s incredible to me that the Milwaukee my grandparents and great grandparents came to was one that looked like a version of Europe. Fewer cars and abundance of winter activities looked so good on Milwaukee.
love it
