I live directly across the street from an opera house and the parking lot is full almost every Saturday evening. It's not a small parking lot either.

Interesting! One drawback I anticipated might arise from running everything natively is performance speed being impacted by the large increase in source count, even if many of those sources are just single image captures. I wonder if this might help mitigate that.

I don't have any experience with using it as a producer. The only time I've ever been on a show that used it, I was a cast member. But it seemed to run very smoothly! A large part of that was probably also due to the fact that @jeffstormer.gobirds.online is a certified pro at AP production.

I suppose it's a question of whether it streamlines the producer's workflow enough to be worth the tradeoff of interactivity the players have. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer there, it depends on if your AP prioritizes centering the mechanical gameplay or the dramatic performance.

That would be an option, but you've nonetheless posed a hangup that definitely highlights a limitation of doing it this way. A valid answer to my question of why more people aren't!

The more I explore OBS the more I wonder why Twitch APs don't set up scenes to manage all assets natively. Loading maps, art, and music/sfx directly into OBS might take some finagling, but then you could manage the whole show from one window instead of having to keep track of multiple open captures.
