How many of them voted for the chump, because y'know, freedom and low taxes..

The level of dumb being displayed over the Trump tariffs is jaw dropping.. Trump wants a third term. To get it he needs the votes for a bill to allow it. Which means he needs a booming stock market by the mid terms. Which means he needs a recession now to pop inflation and bring interest rates down.

What private health care insurance gets you ..

The facts are, the ACA saved millions with pre-existing conditions and set standards for care.

But now, more than a decade later, with what we now know, it’s time to take the insurance companies out of the mix.
The subsidies they get are enormous. We don’t need them as middlemen.

20 councillors in Nottinghamshire quit Labour over Starmer leadership Party loses overall control of Broxtowe borough council over claims Labour has abandoned traditional values

This is despicable behaviour.. Flouncing out the room when Starmer is trying to grow the base shows a shocking lack of understanding of the need to build a broad spectrum of beliefs that can win elections. Division is our weakness. #labour #starmer

Opinion | If DOGE Treats Government Like a Business, It Could Be a Disaster A lot of what the government does is hard to quantify and involves complicated tasks that inevitably require bureaucratic coordination and, yes, inefficiency.

My small part in trying to get people to understand why it seems like running government like a business is a good idea, when in fact it's a terrible one (1/4):

The essence of the dichotomy between right and left for me is consideration of risk.. the left likes to consider the minority of all perspectives and ensure there is a safety net in place for that unlikely circumstance. The right ignores the minority and the cost of such tail risks..
