It's a fantastic film. Glad you got to see it.
Did you realize the kid they introduced as "Steve" was Stephen Sondheim, and Elizabeth's date George who wanted to "get into movies" was George Roy Hill, director of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?

Ditto... Across the Board. The worst part is I think this is the third time I've found myself saying "Our investments are almost back to where they were before Trump...", and he's been in office for just 15 months!
It does seem that, all too often, we are presented with a choice involving the lesser of two evils, as if those are the only options. The examples seem endless. The one you've mentioned is pretty clear. I'm waiting to see if the Hungarian election is another.
I was going to say you can't be too old... I read that a long time ago. Turns out I read it when it came out, and I was 45
Roubaix... Man, I love it.
And the long list of memorable gritty wins... Van Aert, Cobrelli, Hayman, Jackson, Ferrand-Prevost.
It's great.
My mechanic, who specializes in Volvos, is a bit scathing about the newer ones. I got the impression he thought I was pushing my luck a bit with the 2011 (which was during the Ford ownership era).
My niece has a new all electric Cadillac. It recently had to go back to the dealer for a software update.... for 36 hours!
I am on my second Volvo C30, purchased in January because my wife wanted an automatic. Sold the 2011 w/125,000 Km to my son and bought a 2011 with 75,000 Km (46,600 miles). Low tech and, for a Volvo, that's barely broken in!
In comparison, the NHL playoffs this year haven't even started yet.
I'm so old, I remember when hockey was a winter sport!
Any sense on when there will be an Android version?
The same will likely happen here... mostly. My brief bitterness may be explained by the current view out my window (and its not expected to stop for several hours).
Well becaue, as much as I love winter, and get out in the snow a lot, IT'S F#@*ING APRIL!
Given his status as a veteran, that he died during wartime (even if it wasn't his war), and the type of tombstone, you might try to Commonwealth War Grave Commission.

The catch is the next Constitutionally available "new President" isn't exactly a gift to the nation either.
Yup. I'm walking to the grocery store this morning.
Of course, I wouldn't be driving anyway. I generally don't ride my bike when it's below freezing (and that's just because I've chose to not buy the clothes that would make that comfortable).
I have a young friend who works for the Canadian Space Agency who is there to watch, almost exactly 54 years after I was there to see Apollo 16 go.
Yes, hoping it goes well. There is a nice symmetry to having Canadian Jeremy Hansen depart for the moon on the anniversary of the founding of the RCAF.
"Becoming"? Nope...wrong tense. With the President telling countries to just go take Iranian oil, and saying the Administration has the right to force themselves on cities in advance of the World Cup and Olympics, the U.S. is there already.
Ottawa has a remarkable record of building the right thing in the wrong place.
I am a sucker for this kind of story and read Luttrel's book years ago. I could not put my finger on it at the time, and might not be able to now, but something felt off. I would expect a book written by the only survivor to have serious limitations of perspective, but it felt worse.
Happening in many places. The Australian post office only delivers three days a week. My bet is we could happily get by with one.
It's the a similar problem with Hegseth and Patel. They don't want to do the serious policy and administration work. They want to be "in the field with the boys". It amounts to play acting, and they aren't good at it.
"I'm a cop" is another example of how this administration can't see beyond tactics.
No, Mr. Homan, you're not a cop. You are a senior government official charged with overseeing the implementation of a wide range of laws. That job includes understanding the inner workings of the government.
A reminder about this post, which is not clever in speaking about a veteran and long term public servant...
That'll happen.
(Didn't actually cry, but a Christopher Pratt took my breath away.)
Drivers were courteous and gave plenty of space, all on roads with remarkably few stop signs and lights, so it not only functioned better... it looks far less cluttered as well.
I recently wrote about driving in Australia. Cycling was good too, other than learning that being on the centerline of a bike doesn't seem to serve as a reminder of which way to look quite like driving in the right seat does.
Well, at least one guest missed the memo about formal dress not being required.
(Sorry... I'm sure you've heard some version of that one far too many times. Hard to rsist though.)
Unfortunately, entirely believable.
(I've just spent two weeks in Australia and found the care and courtesy of drivers there to be so much better. I also met two young mean who were stripped of their provisional licences. Never seen that here.)
