everyone says video games and anime rot your brain until they realize the people raised on gundam and metal gear solid are the millenial core of the current antiwar movement

It's not about that, k8s makes mediocre devs feel secure in what they are doing because they use big trustworthy name software.

You guys should make a website where people upload a picture of themselves and enter text and then it creates a fake screenshot like that

Don't mind me I am just waiting ๐Ÿฟ for the average bsky user to show up and call you a dipshit because you suggested chatbots are nicer than humans.

Some of this makes sense, back in the day Claude sometimes used to create file_fix.go and file_final.go and file_final2.go instead of just editing file.go. And it would create multiple utility funcs that do the same thing etc. Probably all of this comes from previous fuckups.

Wine 11 rewrites how Linux runs Windows games at the kernel level, and the speed gains are massive Wine 11 is the biggest jump for Linux gaming in years.

"The numbers are wild. In developer benchmarks, Dirt 3 went from 110.6 FPS to 860.7 FPS, which is an impressive 678% improvement. Resident Evil 2 jumped from 26 FPS to 77 FPS."

Linux gaming is about to get a whole lot ... faster and better. Valve already has this kernel mod running in beta.

The bullshit Altman PR stunt study was 8 years before chatgpt launched, also look into givedirectly that came from the same crowd.

At least in the tech optimist sector of EA etc. But people rather talk about the insane doomers, makes better headlines and more bsky likes.

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

Your original framing is somewhat disingenuous imo, before the hype all the early ai people had huge overlap with the less-wrong/EA crowd about a decade ago, and among those ubi as downstream need of ai was the usual talking point, ubi advocacy is deeply tied into the history of Ai in general

Quick reminder that the original goalpost was "mention", and the one you conviniently disqualified literally payed people a ubi for 3 years. Hinton told his gov and everybody else they should implement it, and others talk about it, id say that's promoting.

And honorable mention to Geoffrey Hinton altho he isn't a ceo just a important figure in Ai stuff overall.

The next one that comes to mind is basically voldemort on bsky (for excellent reasons) so we skip that one.

Then there is the Salesforce guy at Davos.

ubi was Altmans thing from the very beginning and way before chatgpt launched, so yes tech ceos talk about this.

Here is a fun question, if I learn programming or whatever by using a llm as a teacher for 3h per days for 3 months let's say, does that require more or less water than a human teacher would consume in those 3 months (drinking only)

On this day in 2153, the Xindi probe from the Delphic Expanse attacked Earth with a laser beam that completely obliterated Tampa, in an event that would become known as "Space's 9/11"

I have a switch oled an upgrading to switch 2 just isn't worth it, despite beeing a Mario kart fan and I would like pokopia too. But 450+ euro just for the console.....nah.

2 weeks ago 0 1 0 0

I wonder if they made more profit overall if they released pokopia for switch 1 as well, I don't think there is a hardware reason to have it as 2 exclusive.

Oh yeah USA is a different story, in EU there are gov mandates for these things, hydro/wind is common here as is seeing "100% green energy" stuff on hoster websites, I have no reason to doubt such claims.
