That's the thing. Starting a campaign with people I'd play with for 10+ years, we skipped the session zero. And it was a wreck. So was the next campaign. Strangely, when the setting and game expectations, so are the players. Don't let experience fool you. Unless you only play D&D.
Session zero is not about the game. It's about what the group of players want to play and what the GM wants to run. And make sure it all fit. You know, the social contract.
Saturday Shelfies with my collection. On the first picture, the two top shelves have all of my (A)D&D[1/2] box sets plus some other boxes for other games. I need mor room, my wife's disagrees.
Premier jdr: L'oeil noir (Gallimard).
Jdr favori: Everyway.
Règles favorites: Not the End.
Cadre favori: Earthdawn.
Illustrations favorites: Dragonlance 5th Age (SAGA) Bestiary.
Highly recommended. I wish the deck of cards was the preferred way of playing this game like first edition, but the work that has been done here is amazing.
Awesome! I can't wait to read that!

(Nice try).
That'd be me. Social Justice Dwarven Cleric even!
There's a reason that this isn't in the humble bundle? What other books am I missing from the bundle that I should get on DTRPG?
Last one, did you figure out what 1st ed pdf are missing from the Shadow over Sol package for the 2nd Ed backers?
Big physical book collection here, with an even bigger digital one. How about you?
~1500 books, boxes, and screens at home. No more room on the shelves. So I buy mostly digital now. With few exceptions.
I didn't see it in the list, this is why I posted the message. But I didn't have time to read everything yet 😅
Hey, just a question. I saw this pdf was released in 2017. I don't see it in the bundle we got for backing the second edition. So is it actually new content for the first edition ? I'm confused.
I deleted my messages. Sorry it was not the interaction you were looking for.
You and me mate.
And they just announced today they were creating more D&D content or something like that. I scrolled fast on my feed.
I'm sure they could do that. Oh wait... 😁
We need another OSR-gate to have a couple months of influencers talking and playing other things than D&D.
Final form of nerd is when you watch people play other games than D&D. Otherwise you're just tame nerd.
That's the problem with modern D&D. A Dragon bites your ass? Chug a potion or call the heal bot. A lake of lava? Oh I can swim for 5 minutes at crazy speed. I'll teleport you from there. No trauma, no conséquences. This has become such a parody of OSD&D.
Give them a "bonus". It all depends on the game or the system. Sometimes, I let them narrate after the roll, and depending on the result and the narration, they'll get some momentum.
All of the above? It depends a lot on the setting, the people I play with, the character too. But roleplayers with a dash of tactician is probably mostly me. And not tactician "maps & minis", but more mastermind.
Pour profiter du "Cult of the "new" ", je suppose.
