The province needs to ensure quality along with quantity. Thank you to the nurse for speaking out. Troubling that they have fear of reprisal - perhaps that’s the root of the problem.

Video

This animation was an inordinate amount of work. Was it the best use of my time? Hmm. But once I had the idea I was compelled to give it a go. And what’s life for if not for satisfying creative whimsy?

Know who you are voting for. Science matters. Evidence-based medicine PLUS. Visiting the Canadian Cancer Survivor networks website is a good place to start becoming or getting more informed. #Canada #CanSky #Elxn45 #ItsOurVote

So apparently the government asked a group of experts in EBM to review the work of the task force and based on that review the government has asked the task force to pause their work for a month.

A temporary pause can create space for expert voices and improved approaches to come forward. Let’s hope this pause leads to meaningful changes that prioritize early detection and better outcomes for all. #CanSky #CancerBS #BreastCancer #BreastDensity

Very important pause! Breast cancer screening and surveillance guidelines should be based on modern science. Thanks @kwadrans.ca! Our voices matter!

I hate to be a downer, but this is why we need to #screen40 and offer supplemental screening for people with dense breasts - Category C and D. #CanSky #CancerBS #Manitoba Also you’re never too young to have a symptom or a sign checked out. #DemandImaging.

You’re absolutely right—more funding and research for metastatic breast cancer is critical, and early detection isn’t a guarantee

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

I’m so sorry that happened to you. Mammograms don’t catch all cancers, mine included. I was definitely under educated about BC before my diagnosis -possibly by design? it is my understanding, though that radiologists determine your density from mammograms, which ‘should’ lead to further imaging.

True for #breastcancer.
Early detection saves lives and quality of life. Get your mammogram—a few minutes of discomfort is far more manageable than the devastating news of a later-stage cancer. Demand supplemental imaging for dense breasts. #ThanksCancer #CanSky #KnowYourLemons #ThanksHank

It’s funny to me that people will rally against vaccines as harmful, but will turn around and smoke cigarettes, or drink alcohol, which have known carcinogens in them.

Come work in #FriendlyManitoba! We would ❤️ to have all healthcare workers; especially mammographers and other technologists to provide ultrasound and MRI for cancer screening and surveillance. #cansky #oncosky #medsky #breastcancer #cancer #earlydetection #costeffective

Jenny, Canada As a breast cancer survivor, I faced both support and gaps in care. My experience highlights the critical need for empathy, active listening, & clear communication in cancer care.

Sharing my story I wrote for #WorldCancerDay. Patient voices and emotions matter. I hope this reaches someone who needs to hear it. #UnitedByUnique #CanSky #OncoSky #MedSky www.worldcancerday.org/stories/jenn...
