amazing prices and arrived very securely packaged within three days in the UK

also bonus original ds games: the world ends with you (best action jrpg combat ever imo + great characters) and the two trauma center games (gameplay is so punishing but rewarding + fun stories + distinctive music and visuals)

devil survivor overclocked is amazing too, satisfying tactics gameplay + the strong worldbuilding and focus on the general human reaction to the crisis makes it a unique take on what would otherwise be a typical smt story

unpopular pick but my #1 is persona q, loved the dungeons and battle system a lot + the story made me emotional. ironically the fanservice elements didn’t do much for me

since the game also allows you to temporarily decrease your level in exchange for better drop rates, there’s a lot of decision making to balance risk/reward that makes encounters way more engaging (while giving better players an opportunity to skip the grind if they choose)

the world ends with you is pretty clever about it

there’s a ‘scan’ mechanic that shows icons for each enemy group nearby, and you can pick as many as you want to fight in a row, the rewards multiplying depending on the length of the chain

they could charge hundreds for it and it’d still be cheaper than buying the anime 🙄 can’t even stream it anywhere in the uk either

it’s waaaay longer than it needs to be and i’ve noticed several mistakes since publishing it, but i’m still proud of it honestly. i wrote two more articles after (on the mastercard scandal and TWEWY) but they don’t come close to the depth and word count of this one
