Super Massive 5.0.0 adds Sirius echo/reverb to the best free plugin in the galaxy. @valhalladsp.bsky.social here with a NASA Goddard visualization of supermassive black holes (of course; see notes)!

Hey, Sirius needed a demo so I decided to pluck one out:

Having said that, try turning the feedback in the Sparkle or Swarm modes up to 100%, and play a note into it.

Not exactly. ValhallaDelay is designed to get the weird self oscillating sounds with pitch shifters, and that's what is going on with the AMS DMX-1580s used by Martin Hannett here.

The Echo section in FutureVerb is designed for enhancing the reverbs, not full on space noises.

Thank you for your kind words about the nature photos! I've been trying to keep Valhalla's social media "on brand" but I'd like to put a little more nature in there.

The sad truth: I haven't been out in nature much this year. Too busy working & with other stuff.

Interestingly enough, Room and Cathedral use a different topology than the other "realistic" reverb algorithms. Different orders of complexity between Room and Cathedral, but still the same "type" of algorithm (which I have never seen in the reverb literature).

I tend to leave Density at 100% for realistic reverbs, as there is no coloration associated with high density. Turning Density down adds a bit of chunky texture to the reverb attack, which is great if you like such things.

Tens was a breath of fresh air for me, in that I realized "nope, I don't need to try and build THAT anymore." I can't see how I would top Tens for that AKG spring sound.

This is our most "realistic" and transparent reverb. It just sounds good. The algorithms are good because of SECRET SCIENCE, & attention to high frequency decay as found in nature. FutureVerb offers high quality sounds with a simple interface. The echos in FutureVerb are different than Delay.

I think FutureVerb would be the best fit for orchestral music. The FutureVerb algorithms are far more transparent and less colored than the Room and Vintage reverbs. Real rooms have this "transparent" quality, even if convolution doesn't capture this.

Purpuses?

Anyway, Bright Color is pretty much there for synths. If you are using the reverb as a way of extending your synth, and you are shaping the tone via LPF, Bright is the Color mode for you.

Disable reverb: turn Reverb Level to 0%. Reverb is still computing, however (it's a reverb plugin w/some extra delay goodness, versus a standalone delay).

Neutral Color does BOTH. Natural high frequency decay / absorption that tracks room physics, also sits better in the mix for most purpuses.

Valhalla's all-new reverb, 8 years in development, goes clean and natural - CDM Create Digital Music We don't need another great reverb, let alone another great Valhalla reverb/echo. Nope, sorry, fell off the bandwagon again. No regrets. @valhalladsp.bsky.social looks really special.

Not anytime soon.

No plans for Linux at this time. I gotta admit, I've worked with Linux a few times, and I just don't get it. I understand the philosophy behind Linux - I just don't get how to use it. Honestly, I'm not really a "computer guy." So I wouldn't really know how to develop for Linux.

Got any questions about FutureVerb™? Feel free to ask here. I've been quiet about this for, oh, over 8 years now, so happy to talk at this point.

We went old school in our house. My kid was a camp counselor this summer, and caught some non-COVID "camp crud" that has kept them sick for a month. I caught it too!
