These are real, concrete wins and a testament to the dedication and hard work of thousands of public health professionals, health workers, and community advocates. This work is difficult and often goes unrecognized. But it remains as critical as ever.
For the first time, no country has a maternal mortality ratio (MMR) of over 1000 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births.
No region has a collective MMR over 500.
