Why can’t we rely on Canada, did our government do something that alienated them

A prolonged fossil fuel crunch just might, at this moment, be *the* exogenous shock necessary for a rapid global transition to clean energy adoption, but also it's going to be a brutally miserable experience for the world's poorest.
The Trump administration approach to public health always values political messaging over public safety.

So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out
Two things can be true:
Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and
Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.
Exclusive: More than 100 former NASA astronauts are launching a nonpartisan nonprofit that will advocate for constitutional limits and bringing back civic responsibility.
In just over a week, Donald Trump has threatened to wipe out Iranian civilization, picked a fight with the Pope, and posted an image of himself healing the sick as Jesus Christ.
Now, former allies have turned on him and claim the president has gone insane. ⬇️

John Eastman has been disbarred from practicing law in California by the state Supreme Court for his conduct while trying to help Trump overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump's erratic behavior and extreme comments revive the debate on his mental health:
As Trump threatens to wipe out Iran and attacks the pope, even some former allies and advisers are questioning whether he has grown increasingly unbalanced, describing him as "lunatic" and "clearly insane."
Why do they look so awkward?

“Google has created a misinformation crisis. Studies have shown that people tend to trust what AI tells them without question…Another experiment found that users still listened to AI when it gave them the wrong answer nearly 80% of the time—a grim trend the researchers dubbed “cognitive surrender.”

As someone who remembers how long and how hard John Kerry worked to land the Iranian nuclear deal—which as a reminder, was a better and more secure agreement than anything Trump has managed in two terms—is astounding how absent Rubio is from the world stage as Secretary of State.
Absolute crazy talk.
Of Mr. Trump’s threat “to wipe out the Iranian civilization .. The pope called the threat ‘truly unacceptable’ in remarks to reporters, and .. called those threats a ‘sign of the hatred, the division, the destruction human beings are capable of’ ..”

WE HAVE A CALIFORNIA PRIMARY PROBLEM
Attention California voters and friends. Watch this, share it.
Folks need to understand how our jungle primary can screw us if we’re not paying attention.
There’s no separate Dem vs. Republican primary. It’s one pool, top two advance, period.

If you had told me in 2003 that Bill Kristol would be on the right side, and JK Rowling would be on the wrong side, of the battle against fascism during the reign of President Donald Trump, I’d have made fun of you.
“Of all the prevailing media narratives around @gavinnewsom.bsky.social, the one that is most conspicuous by its absence is how under its two-term governor California became the top performing economy not just among its 49 siblings but also any developed nation.”

What I like best about the Artemis II photos is that it was taken by actual humans. An actual person had to frame it and manually adjust settings. It's their own artistic rendition of what they thought looked best at the time, something no probe, rover or unmanned spacecraft can take. it's art
"The two have trained nearly every astronaut—nationally and internationally—that has been active in the past 25 years"!! Amazing, @rittigers.bsky.social
My husband took our son to the drive ins last weekend to see it. The husband said he thinks he liked it better than the first one. I, unfortunately, had to stay home with the little one. Cannot wait to see it! Hope you had a good time!

Artemis II was overshadowed by other bad things in the news but what it accomplished was frankly amazing. We are capable of incredible and unprecedented things. I’m in awe at how far we safely sent humans into space.
Imagine trusting science to bring astronauts to the moon and back but not trusting science to develop safe vaccines.
