Oh no! I'm glad you read the whole thing.

Sure, some galaxy-brain would argue they're apples and oranges. Except... they're the same. Masking your placeholders makes them bad placeholders.
A forthcoming review from Space-Biff! showing a finished line, some photos, and then a gigantic "PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZHOLDER" where future text will go.
Every time a developer gets caught with AI assets and claims they were only placeholders meant to be replaced, only, oops, they forgot to make the swap, I think about how I fill my articles with obvious placeholders that cannot possibly be mistaken for the finished thing.
I was thinking do crime, make Copilot go 404
Crime 404!
Allons-Y!
And if you aren't following @danthurot.bsky.social for the best actual boardgame reviews in the biz, you are missing out.
Cheers 🍻
Thanks for the kind words, Terry!
Pillars of Fate is one of two games that revisits the manipulative gods and pawn-like demigods of Veiled Fate. This one happens to be a lane-battler! Unfortunately, it's also the weaker of the two titles. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/04/20/p...
Looks super cool...
I hope you find it fascinating!

It was an interesting week. What did you get to the table?
Thanks for letting me take part!
It’s always a treat to read reviews from the delightful @danthurot.bsky.social
and this one was no different.
I'm mostly good at editing out my stuttering, haha.
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode with Jon Moffat. Both Dan and Jon are very good at talking.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Yeah. There's no jumping between cities. I really liked this approach for a few reasons. It gives the game a really nice contrasting sense of particularity and breadth.
The game now takes place over two weeks, but one of them is in the country before you arrive in Paris. Very smart change.
The forthcoming Let's Go! To France is an improvement on its predecessor, Let's Go! To Japan, in nearly every way, proving that Josh Wood is a master tableau-builder and that Paris is well worth seeing for oneself. My preview: spacebiff.com/2026/04/16/l...
By the way, Amberspire looks sick! Can't wait.
Twice, technically. I learned it for the first time last night, then played again at 4am. My head is spinning.
And of course I'm still goofing around on Bluesky and Discord. I am helpless.
Looking at my schedule, this is the busiest non-convention day I've had all year. Got up early to play with the queer astronauts club, packed the kids off to school, have a review due this morning, student consults after that, a theology of play thing in the evening... send help.
Efka, I mean this as sincerely as possible: You're filling a void with some strange assumptions. I've been quite open in my critique of Eklund's arguments. I'm open to discussion in a more suitable venue, but I'm not biting the false binary you've laid down here.
I genuinely do not.
The map alone is a fascinating expression of orbital dynamics, transfer windows, and distance.
