It's probably a statistical certainty that there's at least some.

Say rather: There are either no out trans people (I assume you looked at the data that shows no one being reported as such), or trans people who are being misidentified, misreported, or erased.

"This just in: People who need medical care seek medical professionals.

Some are asking: Does this prove medicine doesn't work? Just askin' questions here! We report, you decide!"

We live in the grip of a society ruled by child-men whose only solution to any problem is: "Who can I hurt to make it feel better?"

It is impossible to argue that scotus releasing this ruling on Trans Day Of Visibility does NOT constitute clear evidence of ANIMUS towards trans people on their part.

They should strike down their own ruling just in that basis alone.

If conversion "therapy" bans have been ruled unconstitutional, then surely bans on gender affirming talk therapy, as kids normally receive, or information about gender affirming care or mere trans existence are now unconstitutional too.

Right?

Of course not. "Laws for thee, not for me" hypocrisy.

If you can't understand the danger inherent in such a law in a country where the existence of LGBT people is considered "pornographic", then I don't know what to tell you that'll penetrate the numbskull armor.

The last 15 minutes of the last episode of Fargo season 5.

Taken in its context following all that preceded it in the season... A little respite moment of moments mixing humor, humanity, and hope.

Very nice.

Wondering if this bit goes the Anna Kasparian (et al) "Full-on-transphobe-because-trans-women-were-mean-to-me-in-an-argument-about-trans-rights-on-the-internet" route.

In other news, The Heritage Foundation has just initiated a new project to disprove the existence of transgender beings living in the Small Magellanic Cloud... and to prove the original inhabitants were in fact white, cishet, and Christian.

High Elder: "Bring forth the Supplicant"
(GONNGGGggggg...)
Dev: "Council! I bring before you today, MY NEW U/I!"
Council #1: "Dev... why is this function tied to 'ctrl-tilde'?"
Dev: "My orang-u-tang father trained me deep in the... (trap door opens) Aaiieeeee...."
H.E. Dev: "Bring for the..."

That is definitely what prompted the poast, yes :)

I'm talking about U/I design here, not game difficulty.

If your U/I is shit, it doesn't matter how good everything else is, or how challenging. As a game dev, your intent HAS to be NOT GETTING IN THE FUCKING WAY of people playing your fucking game.

"Coolness" or "realism" exists in a context. If it doesn't help your game, it doesn't matter how cool or "realistic" it is.

You're making a game. So MAKE A GAME.

Later on, this was redone to just do this thing the same way games had been doing it forever... BECAUSE IT WAS THAT WAY BECAUSE IT WORKED.

Always try to ITERATE U/I before reinventing U/I.

Things become standards because they work. If you reinvent them, it better be BETTER.

This is something I learned to my own regret many years ago when my devs devised a U/I system for a very simple in-game function that was "realistic" but cumbersome when done with kb/mouse, and I let them get away with it... my devs "reinvented" a U/I functionality outside of established convention.

Game developer tip #1:

You must hire an experienced gamer who is older, reflexes, hand-eye, and patience impaired and GIVE THEM VETO power over your U/I design and implementation.

If just making your game work or completing fights or puzzles drives this person to murder, that thing MUST be redone.

"One by one", ha.

Obviously the better plan includes an energy efficient mass drop. This profligate expenditure of time, fuel, and wear and tear on our agent disposal infrastructure is indulgent at best.

On trans healthcare:

"Nobody in charge of this system is now or has ever been trans. We have never been allowed to run the system that controls our lives. Every internal review, policy document, and action plan for improvement that has ever been written about this system was written by cis people."

Tennessee Republicans Advance Bill That Will Create a Public List of the State’s Trans People House Bill 754 forces medical providers to hand trans people’s medical information over to the state, allowing the state to identify them. And under the bill, the data will be released to the public.

The trans genocide, moving right along:

Circling back around to the fact that I was never "socialized as a boy or a man", I was socialized as a closeted trans girl and trans woman until I transitioned, when I was socialized as a trans woman or, simply, a woman.

I had a friend who said: "It's like you're a parody of a man." because I was TOO on the nose of what I thought that should look like: the "alpha" who intimidated people away from questioning my act... while, since I'm not and never was one, having no idea what being a man really was from the inside.
