We live at the base of a rural off-grid community, with our barn situated just off the main dirt road that serves the few-thousand acres of rolling ridgeline. There are pressures and demands of living like this, but there is also connection in a steady trickle of rainbow eggs into neighbors’ homes.

Another day with this favorite red-tailed hawk 🪶🖤. It’s been big time pouring for days and all of the resident raptors at the rescue were super stoked to bask in the sun alongside us. *Kept and handled under all applicable federal and state permits as an education ambassador bird.

The first of the CalFire S-2T cuffs. I fell in love with this jasper that nods to fire, smoke, and ash. It’s a massive 1.5”-diameter stone and I had some doubts on working it in to a reasonably sized bracelet, but I’ve been so stoked on how it turned out. ❤️‍🔥

If you know me, you know what an attachment I’ve had to my car. I get sentimental about my machines, and I shared nearly 15 years and 340,000 miles with Luci. While ripping around on our local twisty road last week, her engine finally went. 💔 I cried waiting for a tow. We had a good run.

Working on carving a raven this evening, later to be cast in silver. I have capturing movement on my mind, bridging a gap between my experiences as a pilot and in watching birds. Her flaps and landing gear are down, thin talons extending towards the branch, her eyes set on a sparkle in the sand.
