We have great battles in Congress ahead about government spending. Therefore, it is time to ask which House and Senate members are willing to make defending Medicaid and SNAP for low income people and families a moral issue, and for those who call themselves followers of Jesus- a faith issue.
After the Republican bill passed last night, Medicaid and Snap--health and food for the poor--seem about to be slashed. That will devastate the very people Jesus taught us to protect. Expect an escalation of faith in response.
