Sorry I missed it. I grew up amongst the bad Lutherans and we can be pretty humorless. That's on me.

Garrison Keillor did such amazing PR for Lutherans they should send him money. Half of the half of all Lutherans that are "woke" are pulling the lever for Republicans, and the remaining half of Lutherans are as misogynistic and racist as the SBC and the worst of the white Evangelicals.
Joe Walsh and his ilk put out a bunch of media content and delivered NOTHING for Harris. They had Haley voters and their supposed anger with Trump and couldn't get it done, not even a little bit. So whatever Walsh, The Bulwark, etc. are selling, I'm not buying.
My local autistic group LOVES AI and I don't know what to do. I'll get iced out when I bring up all my valid objections to it.
And if people need self-interest, Catholic hospitals are shit for cis women's healthcare too.
If not crab, why crab shaped? I am a robot.

This is a periodic reminder that The Bulwark delivered nothing, NOTHING, to the Harris campaign. Remember all those breathless pieces in late winter/spring of 2024 about Haley voters? They didn't move the needle for Harris. The Bulwark exists to capture the Democratic Party for conservatism.
About 60% of white US Catholics would be ok with the Trump regime actually doing this.
My gallows humor would be tickled to see one of those stock resistlib vote-blue-no-matter-who accounts start hitting them with their standard "um, actually. you know Congress doesn't have the power to do the 25th amendment thing."
Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the rare few who read Masha Gessen's "Your institutions will not save you" and believed that to be true.
You could vibe code in the software or vibe code the source ruby on rails of the project. There's a place for AI code rot for everyone.
So they wouldn't care about AI taking it or doing whatever it does with it.
Spent some time looking. TaxonWorks is an open source project. They aren't selling anything. MIT License. Super open open source.
Funded out of U of I in some way I guess. Source code is in github. If one had a mind to, they could package and sell it, it's so free.
Whether that connection is direct or accessing their shared written or video accounts, it seems people are choosing it in service to the grind. In my 5 plus decades of chasing speed and efficiency even pre AI, this has rarely gotten me anything except exploited...and left me with no connections.
As an autistic person who has struggled to connect with other people my whole life, I have the following philosophy regarding AI: every use of AI was an ignored chance to connect with other humans.
Signatures? The comical stereotypical doctors' signatures should have been enough to know that whatever a signature does, it's relation to a legible representation of the name is not necessary. More recently, any of us signing things on touchscreens have lived it ourselves.
Suicide prevention is not telling suicidal people to call a number for cops to take them to the psych ward. It’s being community for people. People suffer alone. You abandon your sad & mentally ill & lonely friends because they bum you out. We’re the ones with the duty of caring for each other.
Ok so it’s self harm awareness day & somebody was like let’s do some suicide prevention, here’s some hotline numbers. We so badly need to get over the quick fix of handing suicide prevention over to hotline numbers. It says “I don’t care & won’t listen but good luck finding someone who will!”
Talarico has some work ahead of him. Trump is president in 2024 because of Christians. I'll let Pew Research's numbers speak for themselves. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...
Page 3 of that link has the relevant numbers.
An acquaintance died a couple weeks ago. Just had a dream where I was sick, sitting on the couch, and he came up to me carrying an armful of large bars of chocolate. He offered me some. I said no, but he convinced me to break off 3 squares for myself.
"We had a long drive back from the tournament and our little guys had school the next day. While the grownups packed up, they ate McDonalds in the hotel lobby. They looked so precious in their matching sweaters and they all wore their first place medals! So proud of our big boys!"
It was so fun to chat with Adam Savage about #dragonflies! youtu.be/iWVt5yQNwrA?...
Event promised light refreshments. I'm not a plant so I didn't go.
bsky.app/profile/mike... This is the depravity of DHS. Abolish it.
I tried it with "Operation: go to bed" and kid just frowned and said "I know. I will." They seemed completely uninterested in and unconcerned by my Soundwave impersonation.
Kids? I'll try it with my own and see how it goes. "<Child name> eject. Operation: do the dishes."
I haven't found the info yet, but I'm curious about how many of the 2020 Harper's Letter signatories are in the Epstein Files.
This isn't about me and I'm persistent and will keep looking, but I'm either having terrible luck or lots of orgs just really suck at volunteer connection and engagement.
